Like last week, I’ve been studying Denver Broncos film all week..

 

And here’s the play I think they should run at some point on Sunday:

Impressed with Cousins. Defense was ugly early.

 

This game seemed like we were out coached - especially on defense. A QB in his second game? Maybe we should try to hide coverages better or some exotic blitz packages. Also didn't like us taking time outs during the other teams two minute drill. But we won, so, yay!

Nail biter! I’m impressed with how the offense has adapted over the last several weeks, and how they came back today.

 

As for coming out flat after a big win—it reminded me of the playoffs a couple years ago. That’s Zimmer’s brand, and I’m not surprised. But a win’s a win.

Great toughness coming back. Ripped up one of the better defenses in the league. I really hope Thielen is healing well, he is sorely missed.

Ripping a 27 point comeback against one of the NFL's best defenses is pretty impressive, especially with how our special teams unit did their best to lose this game. This looked like the Bills game last year, but the team showed up for the second half and gave them what-for. Impressive bounce-back, boys!

 

I'm personally done with Rhodes. He's the 4th highest paid CB in the NFL and can't cover anyone except Julio Jones. He's too slow to keep up with fast WRs, and when he does get in position, he's  a near guarantee to draw a penalty.

Rhodes seems to be in position most of the time, just doesn't make big plays. He used to be a shut down corner, not so anymore.

 

I watched a Dion Sanders highlight today... I wonder how many interceptions he'd have in this NFL. He was so good at making plays whenever they ball got close to him.

Yeah, he had pretty good coverage on one of those catches but he's just not having a good year. I have no idea why. I don't think he's too old or slow. But if I could fix these things, I'd be much richer.

I'm not a great defensive football mind, but he gets left on an island too often. Someone needs to work on making plays on the ball with him, but the Vikes safeties are absent 99% of the time. Smith has had a few decent games, but I think he is out of position or gets beat way too often. I'm sure there are next gen stats for this?

At a minimum, Rhodes should be the 3rd or 4th CB. Waynes, Alexander, Hill and probably Hughes are all better than him. But Zim keeps starting him AND putting him on the other team's best WR. I don't get it. Ironically, this is the first year in 3-4 years that he hasn't missed multiple games with injury and left early in several others.

We're 2-2 against back up QBs this year... that's kind of sad, especially since neither of the 2 wins were impressive by any means. The defense needs fixing and I hope Zimmer spends every waking hour with Edwards on fixing it... Rhodes needs to be benched if something cannot be figured out. 

 

and yeah, another game where we seemed to have been clearly out coached... better planning up front leads to a lot less adjustments at the half.
