2018 NFL Tidbits

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

They showed a Seattle player (punter? not sure) taking some practice field goals and missing badly, but the player was using the soccer style wind up. I bet if he practiced the kicks straight-on style (like Mark Mosely, Rick Danmeier) the kicks would have sacrificed some distance but been much more accurate.

Here's a tidbit, I hate the Patriots.

I said bad words after the gronkowski catch.

You're not alone.

[Mike Sixel]

Does KC have a defense?

[snepp]

I don't hate Edelman though, I just really wished he played for a different team.

[snepp]

And *dirty word or twelve*, it's over.

[Mike Sixel]

Worst playoff defense ever.

[TheLeviathan]

Not a single blitz on that drive. Ugh.

Does Mahomes not getting the ball open the door for college OT rules.

[Doomtints]

It seems NFL officials really don't like the Saints since bountygate. Can't say I care. I wouldn't have thrown a flag either.

The Vikings had the same sort of terrible officiating working against them in the 70s and 80s, which I think was more due to corruption than it was the Vikings doing anything wrong.

[Mr. Brooks]

The most simple explanation is that refs are human and miss calls. That likelihood overwhelmingly dwarfs the almost impossible explanation that there is some grand conspiracy to make calls for/against certain teams.

[TheLeviathan]

Correct, but there is something extra enjoyable about watching them blow calls that cost the Saints.

I used to hate the Pats dynasty... Now I embrace it knowing it's something that will most likely never be matched again in football. Reaching the Super Bowl 9 times in 18 years is insane.

Agreed, but I was rooting for the KC team

Same. But I think Mahomes is going to get his team to that game and a couple of Super Bowls very soon. I'm okay with it not happening this season.

[Mike Sixel]

Kap supposedly got more than sixty million, but sure, no collusion....

I'm glad he exposed the NFL and he's getting paid. It was crystal clear IMO he was blacklisted from the NFL.

[TheLeviathan]

Good for him.

[Badsmerf]

I have no doubt he will take the fight where it belongs now. I believe reality is going to come crashing down on the NFL soon. I hope Jerry Jones is in the middle of the crumbling, because I think he is one of the worst of the lot.

[Badsmerf]

Odell Beckham to the Browns.... First playoff appearance ever for that team next year. They could be pretty good.

[TheLeviathan]

Browns look really good and they are about to sign Earl Thomas.  That team could be a legit contender.

[Vanimal46]

For the first time ever, you can start a franchise in Madden as the Browns and NOT need to do a fantasy draft...

You could always count on them as the "Well, they have nothing, I'll build them up!" team.

Guess that's the Giants now?  Not sure.

[Badsmerf]

Nice... Glad they aren't in our division. All we're going to hear about next year is how long it has been since they've been in the playoffs....

[Mike Sixel]

More OL signing today. Guess they are assuming the draft will fall perfectly, and that their new coaches can fix this horrible mess. But, hey, at least they drafted a CB last year in round one.....

On Paradis (who has major concerns of his own FWIW) I agree.  But paying 5-10 million for guys that are as good as Nick Easton does not interest me.

This draft is deep at OL, DL, TE, and Safety.  All needs, we can make this work in the draft.  Let's hope we have a trade coming soon.

[Mike Sixel]

Andrew Luck..... Wow.

[Vanimal46]

Andrew Luck..... Wow.

Was just gonna post this. Shocking, indeed. I don't see him as the type of guy to come back to football.

[Mike Sixel]

Colts fans booed him yesterday. Others are calling him soft. And complaining about their fantasy team.

Maybe we do deserve to go extinct.

NFL fans are the worst. They forget the people they idolize are human too. They're acting like Andrew Luck intentionally kept this retirement under wraps in order to sabotage the Colts. It's sad... Truly sad.
