jimmer Verified Member Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 Hey all, Where are some of the best places to have a good meal near TF? Not looking to break the bank, but also doesn't need to be a Denny's type either. I have eaten at Murray's and Kieran's, so any other recommended places? I thank you in advance
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 Brothers has good burgers but if your going during a busy Twins game getting food can be a bit of a wait. Though that goes for most near-stadium eateries. I didn't realize Brothers was a chain until last time I went there. I can't say why that disappointed me, other than to say I'm a 'local' snob. The BBQ pork sandwich with slaw at Gluek's was really good.

After moving to Chicago, I can taste the difference between a chain and a not-chain. And I can taste the difference between something someone bought pre-cooked from a distributor and just heated up or made fresh. It's a big difference! I don't think it's snobby, once you figure out the difference it's really hard to stomach chain food, esp. for a pricey dinner.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 112, though not free! Monte Carlo has good drinks, can't recall the food. Red Cow (chain burger place) I haven't been there, but people like The Freehouse and Nolos.
jimmer Verified Member Posted February 21, 2018 Author Posted February 21, 2018 I have heard The Loon Cafe is very good. Additionally, Union (both Rooftop and the B&G) Anyone been to these places and agree they are good?
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 Red Cow is very good. Love that place.

jimmer Verified Member Posted February 21, 2018 Author Posted February 21, 2018 I have enough suggestions to cover the amount of meals we will be there for. Thanks to all who gave suggestions.
