Blake Verified Member Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 My dog, Buxton can talk. No...really. My friend Ashbury was visiting recently, but didn’t believe that Buxton could talk. So Ash asked him, “What’s on top of a house?” “Roof,” said Buxton. Ash wasn’t convinced. So he asked Buxton how sandpaper feels. “Rough.” Ash had a bemused look on his face..."I think I see what you're trying to pull, here, Chief. But OK, I'll play along. He turned to Buxton and, with a wry smile, asked "O.K., who was the greatest baseball player of all time?” “Ruth.” With that, Ash gave us a little courtesy laugh, and walked away. Buxton looked up and me and said "He's one of them saber guys, isn't he. I should have said Bonds."I believed every word of the story, up until the "friend" part. Then I knew you were just making things up.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Often, when driving, I amuse myself by swerving at anyone I see walking who's wearing a Yankee jersey or hat. Oh, I swerve back, I don't actually hit them, I just like to scare 'em. Yesterday, on my way home, I saw a priest walking, and it's way too darn hot here in August to be walking. I pulled over and offered him a ride. Well, we got to talking, and sure enough...there's a Yankee fan walking along the street. I forgot for just an instant my passenger, instinct took over, and I swerved hard at him. Ashamed, I immediately apologized to the priest. "Geez, I'm sorry father. I almost hit that man." "It's ok, my son," he said. "You missed....but I got him with the door."
Blake Verified Member Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 So, Hernandez is suing for discrimination. Good grief. It's all about Angel, I see. Of course, that sort of defines Hernandez career, I guess.

jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 I hope Berrios is watching Greinke and saying to himself, "I can do that." Berrios has that kind of talent, capable of totally shutting down an offense.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 http://www.adirondackalmanack.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/new-york-crickets.jpgThose things are so noisy! Pipe down there! Some of us are trying to keep up with all the scoring in this game...
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 In play, run(s) please.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 I like how Eddie caught the ball, then in one motion tossed it a foot into a fan's glove. Love's me some Eddie.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 I would bet a lot of money on Buxton bunting.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Rosario has to score there.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 I would seriously squeeze in this situation.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Rosario has to score there.Iffy. Tough ball to judge.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 I would seriously squeeze in this situation.Well, not now obviously.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 I would seriously squeeze in this situation. It's harder to squeeze with bases loaded, it becomes a force play at the plate and that reduces the time for the runner. Not impossible, but harder.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Haven't we been here before?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Iffy. Tough ball to judge. It shouldn't have been. The ball was low and landed 15-ish feet in front of the center fielder.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Let's be a professional hitter here, Doze.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 RWI for Casro. Not a stat that gets much attention...
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 In play, run(s) please.not in play, (runs), works too
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Unexpected to see Greinke walk a runner in.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Let's be a professional hitter here, Doze.Did he earn his pay check?
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 82 pitches for Grienke. We saw yesterday that the D-Backs lesser relievers are no better than anyone else's. Should get at least 4 innings of the pen.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 Do the D-Backs have anyone warming?
