For all the **** we give them, the umpires actually do a surprisingly good job for not having seven angles and various slow-mo speeds.

yeah, I think people rag on umpires too much when the play actually needs to be slowed down extremely just to get it right on our high def TVs.

Yeah, I umpired at many different levels for 30 years.  I rarely rag on umpires for really close plays/calls.

Part of being ready is fielding your position. Mejia has failed countless times. Maybe he should have been sent to AAA where he can be working on these fundamentals and also get the message that they are valued by the organization.

Interestingly, the Twins lead the entire league in plate appearances with the bases juiced this month.

Yeah, the Twins only seem to hit about 1 grand slam a season while others vary around 2-3. I don't have any stats to back this up but I think I'm right.

offensively we are 8th in the AL in wRC+ but 13th in ISO.  We're 8th in wRC+ because we got on base better than average and the more a team gets on base, a better chance of scoring overall.

We are 10th in the AL in actual runs scored. Our rotation is 13th in FIP. Our bullpen is 14th in FIP.  Our pitching staff is dead last in fWAR.

 

We are 4th in DRS, 7th in UZR.

 

It's amazing we are still even close to a playoff spot.
