Trade Deadline

let's see where they are in a few months, but if they are trending in the upper 400s in win percentage, they'd be wise to sell.

Guys that will likely fetch something nice:

  • Santana
  • Dozier
  • Santiago if he keeps this up.

Guys that could get something

  • Kintzler
  • Belisle

Not sure what the end result will be, but I think the Twins should likely have a couple nice trade chips if they are out of it.  The problem as I see it is that you won't see a ton of major league ready talent coming back.  If you're lucky, we are looking at good prospects in AA.  That's the big downside to those moves, especially on the SP front.

Diehard has it right. Santiago, Santana, and Dozier will probably be moved (in that order) and Escobar, Kintzler, Belisle and maybe even Giminez might get something (Giminez would be moved to make room for Garver).

Santana goes to the Yankees, Dozier to the Cubs, Gibson to the Rockies and Santiago to the Nats. They'll also hang on to DanSan because he is just way way to valuable.

Huuuuuuge beautiful quick farm system rebuild with several of the greatest prospects coming back.

Early non-binding predicts.

Park to the Rangers.

Palka for prospects.

Kohl Stewart to P.J. Fleck.

The Yankees might actually be a good fit if they are in it and have needs that the Twins can fill.  They have some very nice pitching prospects in AA right now.

If Dozier goes, I have to think Escobar stays. He's the place holder till Gordon is ready, which I'm guessing is 2018 at the earliest.

I think if Dozier goes, Polanco slides to second and Gordon comes up from AA (if he's still got a .800 OPS).  And didn't they sign some vet UI guy who is on the DL right now who could also take Escobar's role?

I don't think Gordon is the type of prospect the organization is going to rush. His bat is coming along slow and steady but is still rather underwhelming. I don't see him being a "250 plate appearances in AA and off to Minnesota" player.

I think Escobar takes duties at either second or short if Dozier goes. If Adrianza is still around, then maybe he takes one of the middle infield roles (probably short). Vielma is a dark horse candidate as well.
