Angels Opening Day Starter - Ricky Nolasco

I'm sure this has been noticed somewhere at TD, but just in case it wasn't:  Ricky Nolasco started opening day for the Angels.  That's right, the guy we cast off in the "Alex Meyer Trade".  We had to pay them to take him.  Did our front office miss something, or are the Angels CRAZY???

They aren't exactly stacked with pitching in LAA (unlike LAD, where they have all the pitchers).

Motivation is big, he didn't want to be here, and pitched like it.  But I still wouldn't have given up Meyer, he could still turn into something, they should have just paid Nolasco's salary and put him in the bullpen or cut him.

I bear no ill will against Nolasco. If he succeeds, good for him. It would not make me feel any better about the past Twins seasons to have him fail.

I thought the same thing - when Ricky Nolasco is your opening day starter what does that say about your rotation. Yeesh, go get 'em guys...although I never feel bad for anyone who lives in southern California.
