Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Planescape Torment, enhanced edition....coming in 2 weeks. I never played the first time. Might need to buy a new iPad just for this.... edit: Or, i could use an actual PC and mouse and monitor.....Wowwwwww. I just flashed right back to 1999. I completely forgot that game existed.

I do love Monte's work, but I don't usually play video games....
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 did you play tides? I do love Monte's work, but I don't usually play video games....I started it, and played about 5 or so hours. It's really a pretty game, and well-written, and strange and atmospheric; there was very little combat so far, but it's a neat game that I'll get back to when I have more time. Since it requires so much reading, it doesn't itch that videogame twitch spot for me when I'm winding down. But on free weekend day, sometime soon, I hope to immerse myself, as its more interactive sci-fi novel than game.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2017 Author Posted April 2, 2017 Caught up on a ton of nostalgia tonight... My older brother kept our old Super Nintendo and we spent the night playing games from our childhood! The games are a little more difficult than I remember. Then again, we also weren't 10+ beers deep when we played it as kids.

Games made from 1980-1995 are far more difficult than the games that followed. And for good reason. Dying 200 times to beat a game that plays through in 58 minutes is the only way to make that game seem like a reasonable value. In today's games, you rarely/never die but actually explore new scenes and locations for hours on end.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2017 Author Posted September 29, 2017 So today is the launch day for the Super Nintendo classic with 20 some games included. Nintendo continues to F up by not producing enough consoles to meet the demand. The bundled package is already being sold for 2-3 times the original price of $80 on Amazon, Ebay, etc. When will Nintendo learn to create more product to meet the demand? All they're doing is alienating interested customers.
jimmer Verified Member Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 I have somehow never really embraced video games. If there was only a really good RPG that was turn based......I'm a bit old school. I really enjoyed the Wii games with the family. We used to play Mario Cart (Kart?) and tanks and other games, but you know, the boys played a lot, and it wasn't like I ever won......I loved video games as a kid, but now I feel the same way as you stated.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 We should rename this a video game thread. Cuz this Spiderman game is ridiculous. All that I loved about the Arkham series and more.
Doomtints Verified Member Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 The Switch is a good platform. The Spider Man game is very good from what I have seen. Raft is a fun game with friends.
