Mahukey Provisional Member Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Rocketpig, what is the story with Mauer... Is he ok?
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Rocketpig, what is the story with Mauer... Is he ok?Most likely just a day off, Mauer has been playing nearly every day for a while and he has started to struggle a bit (past 3-4 games)
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 Yeah, the Twins haven't had a day off in awhile and I assume that Mauer is just taking a day off to rest.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 So we have Casilla as the Latin whisperer along with Drew?
CDog Provisional Member Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Joe C at StarTrib said in his lineup write up that Gardenhire said even during the last series (or over the weekend) that Mauer would get a day off on the road trip. Shouldn't be cause for alarm. (Oh please, oh please, oh please...with apologies to Gary Larson for using his material.)
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Most likely just a day off, Mauer has been playing nearly every day for a while and he has started to struggle a bit (past 3-4 games)Mauer didn't have a very good series against the WSox. Giving him a day vs. a tough lefty isn't a bad thing. Besides, Gardy said that he wanted Butera to play pretty soon (ugh!).
Top Gun Provisional Member Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 September can't come soon enough so we can have a expanded roster.
GCTF Verified Member Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Drew, whispering up a storm of epic proportions thus far.
Highabove Provisional Member Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Drew just advanced a runner at 724pm central standard time
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Of course he's also calling a one hit shutout from a wild pitcher through five innings.
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Of course he's also calling a one hit shutout from a wild pitcher through five innings.I agree and I would submit that Deduno and Butera deserve a lot of praise for their performances tonight.
GCTF Verified Member Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Ruh-roh...2 straight reach base. Psst, psst, psst, psst.
snepp Verified Member Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Every time Dickbert talks about Drew somewhere a kitten is killed.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Ruh-roh...2 straight reach base. Psst, psst, psst, psst. And three outs to go with it. If Deduno ever got that fastball across the plate a lot of people could de-angst about Liriano.
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 If Deduno ever got that fastball across the plate a lot of people could de-angst about Liriano.Including me.
GCTF Verified Member Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Every time Dickbert talks about Drew somewhere a kitten is killed.I've got the Sawks announcers tonight, they don't even acknowledge his exsistance. Though, I admit I'm not sure what Jerry Remy is saying half the time.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Blyleven has prounced his name 80 different ways. Did I just hear DeDoumit?
Highabove Provisional Member Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Can you imagine, your looking at slop the whole game and Perkins comes in, and starts buzzing 97mph fast balls under your chin.
NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Good game, Mastroianni.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 I'm going to periodically talk crap about Dozier more often on here. Seems to work well for the kid.
Highabove Provisional Member Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Now a non save situation Get Gray up in the Bullpen.
GCTF Verified Member Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Perkins, now unavailable for a week.
NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Perkins, now unavailable for a week.Yeah, Perkins pitching here makes about as much sense as Jeff Gray pitching in a tie game in the ninth. Don't the Twins have mop-up guys for exactly this type of situation?
snepp Verified Member Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Don't the Twins have mop-up guys for exactly this type of situation? They do, he mopped up the 9th the other night.
NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 They do, he mopped up the 9th the other night.Touché
