Tell me if you've heard this before

I mean, Ruesse is a sportswriter, so perhaps it kind of is his job... such that perhaps he should be somewhat shielded from personal attacks for publishing sourced information that his readers probably want to know....  Irony aside, I'll continue to maintain that Ruesse's article was not a personal attack, at least not to me.  It's cool if you read it another way.  We clearly see personal attacks for work-related tasks very very differently...

Yes, I see public, personal attacks on 23 year olds as unproductive and in bad taste.

He should write about sports or actual performances on the field and save the personal life examinations for another section of the newspaper.

Ok, he could just be relaying information from his sources.  Might not be anything "personal" about it.  You called the guy an "a-hole" and a "random column writer"...  Why does Ruesse deserve ripping for doing his job, while Sano should be shielded from criticism for not doing his job...  Seems backwards.  Again, I think we just see the article very differently.  I don't see it is anything other than relaying doubts about the kid's work ethic.  Evidently you see it as an attempt to tear the kid down.  Sano gets all the accolades for the team's successes, taking blame for its failures is part of being a leader.  It appears he's going to start doing that.  Good news for all involved.

THe difference is that I am taking a personal shot and a shot at his professional conduct.  I'm just not pretending otherwise as you seem to be about his article.

Tearing down Sano publicly doesn't help Sano.

Find if humorous that people feel Sano is being attacked on a personal level for his lack of conditioning (when his job is that of a professional athlete and being in shape is part of the JOB)yet personal attacks on Mauers character in regards to preparing himself for the season has been happening to Mauer for years with few showing outrage about that.

Not all of us are cool with some of the things that have been published regarding Mauer either.

I agree that Sano could stand to lose some weight. Exactly how more fit he could get, and how much better he'd be for slimming down, I don't know. He's going to be big naturally.

I don't agree with the narrative that the Twins putting him in right field would have worked, if only Sano's lack of dedication hadn't sabotaged the plan. It was always a bad idea.
