Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Well, they can't all go up. But, college players dominating low A......for how long? Not a fan of going slowing in low A, and then speeding thru AA and AAA. Totally the opposite of how I'd do it.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 With the draft less than 2 weeks away, I'm guessing they'll wait until they see how that all plays out first. There will be lots of guys who will sadly lose their jobs and open up spots in all levels of the minors. I am starting to get excited about Arraez though. He looks like the high-contact/high-OBP guys this team needs, and it seems to me, those are the two skills that tend to translate the most consistently when advancing. I'm wondering what's up with his base running though, he hasn't even attempted a steal this year. Is that not a viable tool for him?
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Given his age, there's something to be said about letting Arraez stay in low A for the season, especially after college players start coming in after the draft. He's what, 19? This is about the time for mid-season promotions, and the Twins definitely have a few. I think Wade and Murray should be on the short list in CR. I suspect Gonsalves in FTM will join Stewart. I wouldn't be surprised if Chargois moved up to MN in the next month and we saw another RP move up to Rochester.

I wouldn't mind seeing Hildenberger move up to Roch. He hasn't gotten much time at AA but he is 25 already.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Now that they nixed the Cederoth as a SP experiment, he should be in the AA bullpen
gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Anyone know how much Luis Arraez signed for in 2013?

Sure they can't all go (though I was going to do the same for FTM to Chatty, etc.), I supposed. But you are very correct about the ridiculousness of going slow in A ball and then accelerating the process by AA.
