Remember last year when Twins fans were making fun of the White Sox?

 

TV guys stop complaining about the backup to the backup catcher because he isn't Johnny Bench. This guy isn't a ML catcher but he is playing and I assume doing his best. Whose fault is it we have crappy catchers?

Now I know why Duffey was so angry after yielding the first WS run--because when the Twins scored they told Duffey "That's your run!".

Yard work this afternoon so I was only able to watch on the radio, and even then I had to turn away when the baserunning, passed ball/wild pitch, and fielding hijinx were happening.

 

About the only time the Twins were the good kind of surprising to me during this second sweep by the Crime Sox was when they managed both a reprisal plunk and then to pry themselves off the bench to respond to the display of Royals-esqe fake outrage by Chicago's second best team.

Unlike most of the crazy things I say,   that was on purpose.    Hence the reference to having to 'turn away'- the play by play was so cringe-inducing that it made me deliberately stop picturing it in my head.   Good to know someone was paying attention to what I wrote, though .

 

Normally I would at least feel a little disappointed about not watching the Twins to get yard work done,  and probably more than a little tempted to procrastinate or take a long 'water break' in front of the tube if the Twins threatened a big inning at bat.

 

Today it didn't occur to me to get the game on the radio until the first inning was over,  and pruning shrubs and splitting hostas never once proved onerous enough to tempt me to take a TV break.

 

Normally I do just enough yard work and landscaping here at Casa de Bombo to avoid dirty looks from the neighbors,  but the 2016 Twins seem bent on driving me to compete for some sort of non-existent 'Most Improved Yard' award this year.

 

And if they keep getting swept by teams who stunk last year,  I might finish adding on a room by the All Star break.
