jimmer Verified Member Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 San Diego is great. The Padres suck.yes and yes
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Could be much worse, we could be Padres fans, down 14-0 in 8thYeah but as any fantasy football player knows, Phillip Rivers has historically been a second half QB.
Intramural Legend Verified Member Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 But AFAIK, there is no premium for the opener. It's a tier one game but nothing more expensive than a game against, say, a division rival. As someone who purchased a single game ticket via Stubhub, I would disagree with that statement. Also, there is a reason the opener was never part of my partial season ticket plan

DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 (edited) Third party vendors don't make the Twins or MLB any money. Not true, several teams make a lot of money by letting Stub Hub be the "official" 3rd party/reselling partner of the team. But you are correct, the Teams don't see the "difference" it the person selling a $50 ticket for $400 Edited April 5, 2016 by DaveW Intramural Legend 1

howeda7 Verified Member Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 The Adam Jones 2-run double. Just watched the video.I think an above average RF would have a 50-50 chance to catch it, but like people said, it was crushed, it was more of a fly ball than line drive, but it was hit off the wall in right center. But check this out: it looks like Sano actual broke *in* on it. As if it was hit in front of him.Buckle up folks this is going to be ugly!Torii Hunter wouldn't have caught it. Neither would have Oswaldo Arcia.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 (edited) Torii Hunter wouldn't have caught it. DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 They're the two most recent people the Twins have run out there though...And how many playoff games/appearances did those teams make?Just because their last two opening day RF's sucked defensively doesn't mean they needed to make the same mistake. Especially considering they had a guy under contract who would have likely been the best fielding RF in the game when this off-season started. (Hicks)

They've made their choice, there's no sense getting this wound up over a very difficult play. There will be more coming. Dozier's Glorious Hair 1
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 (edited) Torii Hunter wouldn't have caught it. Neither would have Oswaldo Arcia. In this case I agree. Although Fangraphs classifies balls like that as either remote 1-10% chance or unlikely 10-40% chance to catch. That ball was in the air a long time and certainly not an impossible catch. Fangraphs has both Arcia and Hunter as catching remote or unlikely chance balls like that in the past.http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=10306&position=OF#iefielding Sano is more likely to hurt himself trying to catch a ball like that than actually catch it. But regrettably true, nonetheless!

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Off day... What do we do now? Anyway thanks for the company through rain delays and whatnot. Sorry i missed all the excitement. And that the chicken went hungry. Now for the game what puts the pen in opening... or rather pairs it. The pen-opening day... i so dub thee. And, like jack in the box, i'll find out what generous TDer has devoted creative energies to get us all on the right track. On goes life...
