  1. Breitbart and DailyKos are no different than any other media institution at their core, other than being relatively newly formed platforms, and the former acting as nothing more than a honeypot for Trump supporters and for citizens looking for alternatives to legacy corporate media, including Fox News. The media can be rejected by the people, which is something that is well underway, by simply shining a light on the false idea that it is currently existing to serve the people. Every story, every article, from all political persuasions are written with an intent to direct thought and behavior, and ultimately divide, not to cover newly available information. The demand for this is increasing and the outcry against traditional media is rising. The focus of this rejection right now tends to be on the left leaning corporate media, but will greatly expand into alternative news that pretends to have a home for right-leaning, conservative, libertarian and political refugees. The long term repercussions as a result, would be the permanent elimination of these media empires. As to the repercussions on the people, of which there are none, but the release of the shackles on our minds, and the restoration of day to day free thought and will power.
  2. Yes, of course. But that didn't answer my inquiry.
  3. There are many openly talking about some kind of civil war coming, tensions being high. Revolutions coming, etc. Whether or not any of this is true is up to each of us. But would you agree that racial and political party tensions are higher than they were 10 years ago.
  4. My contention is yes, there are 2 political teams. But there are more teams now, like black vs white, black vs hispanics, conservatives vs islam, islam vs judiasm, transgender vs conservatives, gays vs conservatives, progressives vs israel, police vs blacks, police vs citizens, government vs citizens, trump vs the people, city folk vs hill billies, conservatives vs hollywood. There are a ton and many more that I missed that I'm sure others could point out, and these are just a short list of these battles. Yes some of these battles have existed in the past and have been ongoing for quite sometime, but the media has been pushing all of these at the most intense levels I have personally ever seen.
  5. Your words, not mine.
  6. I don't think so, I don't have every last bit of evidence in front of me, nor does anyone. And there have always been problems, societal problems, brought on by what the media pushes. And I agree, we have always had teams, but there are more teams now than than previously and they are meant to stand against each other with more ferocity than ever before as well. If the narrative wants to create more friction between the groups, then it will. If it doesn't, then it won't.
  7. Appreciate the levity.
  8. That's not something I can answer. I truly don't know. I would lean towards inception, but that's just a guess. Right now I can see the country tearing itself apart, and I think this is the origin of that. What's funny is we are on a sports forum, sports being largely comprised of teams. And I think it is the teams that have been and are being created by the media that are causing us to begin tearing everything down. Like I said earlier, we are in reality, all on the same team and always will be. We need to somehow reach that understanding and I think a lot of the problems we have been facing over the last many decades can actually be eradicated, but I can understand how overly optimistic that sounds. This doesn't mean we come to the same political or philosophical conclusions about everything, we are always going to have our differences, it simply means we wake up and realize how we are being pitted against one another.
  9. You don't have to agree with how I see the world at all. In fact, that would ultimately lead us back to the same point we are finding ourselves in right now. We need variation and different mindsets, working together, but this is not possible, if we are bitterly divided through a mass media that seeks to keep us enslaved within their narrative.
  10. The media right now, in my estimation, is the primary cause, the cancerous tumor inside of the brain that needs immediate operation. The rest of the body has infection and weakness, but without addressing the primary cause first, the rest will mean little. I would agree that there are certainly other elements at play here.
  11. Yeah, that's exactly right. Many do have hate in their heart, I was no exception decades ago, like many, and that hate got focused on groups that it had no business being focused on. And I see that hate being used to cause hatred in people that I respect, and it's something that is very apparently a modality that we need to work our way out of. Me being here, is literally the tiny attempt to do that, as badly criticized, poorly attempted, and ill conceived in all forms that it has taken. ~30%-40% of the responses to my comments are participants attempting to correct my behavior, explaining the proper way to act. I'm taking note of everything everyone is saying, and I appreciate the concern and/or the feedback, but that's getting us off track. And there may be anger or confusion being thrown my way as we speak, but in the grand scheme of things, I'm hoping to at least reduce the hatred or fear we are all feeling these days, in the tiniest way possible, which would be considered a great victory. We and our neighbors are not enemies of each other, but right now, if you turn on the news, you would think this to be the case. Race, political party, sexual orientation, doesn't matter, every group now has their opponents, and everyone is told, even demanded, to take sides.
  12. I am talking about politics, just not the politics you are interested in pursuing, not the status quo of what has been discussed here. It has everything to do with the world and country we live in. I have described what I feel the problem is, the narrative, since page 1 and have filled in any details people have requested of me thus far. The request has been to discuss political pre-approved talking points relating to politics, yes, and that is not what I am going to involve myself with. But others are free to speak about these topics. They were in the first couple of pages I was responding to people but have ceased now. I don't know why they have, but they can continue onward as they had been. You're mistaking that my intentions have been to make a fool of members of the thread. I think others would disagree they have been made a fool of in the first place, so it's subjective. I personally don't feel like I have attempted to make a fool of anyone and certainly did not come anywhere close to making a fool of anyone in the slightest. And I have gone out of my way to make it clear this has nothing to do on a personal level with the members here, but is occurring in forums across the internet in the same manner. I like the community here as far as discussing the Twins and talking sports. Lot of great people here I would gladly share time with in real life if we ever had an opportunity. This, however, has nothing to do with the topic at hand. I've said everything you are seeing here to every member of my family and my friends and no one has taken it as an insult or me making a fool of them to any degree. Are these insights more about me as a person and my intent or my arguments.
  13. When the division results in blacks hating whites, whites hating blacks, endless war, endless political fighting, fear, hatred, of everyone you feel you are standing against, then the trend we are on would indicate nefarious behavior and divisiveness by not just one media institutions, but all. Doesn't matter which party you are in, you walk away after consuming these stories hating one or more groups.
  14. I'm doubting they have to prioritize as much as we are being lead to believe. They seem to be choosing the stories that divide us most often, and the stories that may be real news goes on the back burner or gets thrown away. If that is the case though and we could come to an agreement on that, then the appropriate question would be why. But I think you hinted at that in this comment. You are right in the fact that they are limited in resources and time. And I absolutely agree that there is a lot of room to wonder.
  15. I made it clear, this isn't about TD, this is about the internet at large. Making things personal was not my intent and that was made clear from the first post of mine. I think I have said it at least 10 times now, this is happening all around, everywhere, not just here. I think you said earlier no one was acting defensive, but now you are saying you and others have been judged. It is possible if people felt judged, they felt defensive. It's possible they felt nothing. I said it was understandable that anyone might feel challenged. I'm getting at the underpinning of the discourse we are involved in, nothing more. This can feel challenging, and I'm not ignorant of that. It can also result in more reaction and less introspection, which I laid out in the first post I said on this topic. The questions have been asked at least 3 times I believe, in different forms each time, and to different members of the board. So it's possible they slipped through the cracks with so many responding to my posts. I just laid another round out to Pseudo. I'm happy to take this back to pm's to discuss your questions with your friends, or what not, if you don't want to discuss it here.
  16. I think I made a response much earlier in the thread that answered this question, but I'll give it a go again. Poverty, healthcare, education are all real things. Are they the most important factors in our lives is what I'm getting at. Yes, they are important, but the way the polemic sets up on both sides doesn't grant us much wiggle room from which to debate from. Poverty - low taxes, high taxes Healthcare - single payer, universal, privatized, education - public, private We all know there are many more options on this and these issues are more complex, yet both of the political parties essentially only debate from either of these sides for the most part. Why is that. The issues that are most impacting our lives right now do not have anything to do with the options that are listed. Going to war for plunder, not just oil, but for human trafficking and drugs. Foreign interests from both major political parties having complete control over our legislative branch of government. The federal banks being owned by foreign powers. The police force being the modern day version of the slave patrol, why would this be the case. There are no actual rights for any citizens, only the illusion of rights. Why do we have the Constitution. What happened to the Articles of Confederation. This is just the tip of the iceberg, but why is the media or even the secondary media (Trump/conservative) not tackling any of these issues.
  17. I enjoyed this comment. I'm glad you acknowledged we are playing a game, because we are, and it's not us that set the rules, but the media. I suppose there is always someone like me that will come around once in a long while and talk about the metaphorical rules of the game. Is that a problem? Maybe it is, I don't think it is, but I can understand why it's a problem, if only a minor one. If there are more conservative voices here, that's fine, but that's not my aim, and I still don't think that is ever going to help any of us in our lives to make this world a better place. I understand the contentious tone to that statement. You're going to go back and forth, team A vs team B. Is there a way for either team to actually win, or is it simply going to result in a stalemate, based on our previous experiences. In my experience, it will always result in a stalemate, until one of the team gets more numbers than the other team, and squeezes the other team out. As far as politics goes, this is how things operate at the most fundamental levels, generally speaking. You simply need numbers, then you win. Ideas don't matter, philosophy doesn't matter, only majority power. I'm sure exceptions can be pointed out, but when you only have 2 teams to play for, it seems like we all lose at the end of the day. I think there must be a few that can agree to that last statement. Why not force a change in the rules, or at the very least expose the ruleset for what it is. Seems like a good start.
  18. Yes, this is of course true, but don't mistake that the majority jumping on the minority was an unexpected outcome. It was fully known this would be the response long before I came here. I mentioned it in the first post I made here on the topic, but I only started here because another participant was trying to seemingly put an outside opinion into the mix, and I figured that might be an opportunity to open up dialogue about this. Now I'm getting multiple members asking me to leave essentially, unless I am mistaken, which is the number one way to discourage discussion. And they have their list of reasons, so that's that.
  19. I don't think that's true at all. I've been to other locations where there is thriving discussions about the very things I am speaking of. There aren't many, but they do exist. And I'm sorry you feel that I am patronizing you. I'm pointing out an issue that a majority does not want to wrangle with.
  20. I would like to know more about your discussions if you ever have time. And your response to any of the questions I laid out in a previous comment. You asked what kind of questions should be asked here, and I gave you some examples. Would love to hear your thoughts on any of those, or maybe you have your own contributions. Fair enough regarding the thread. I am ultimately talking about politics, and that's why I am in here, and not another thread, but I'm speaking about it in a non-conventional way than the way we are used to here. How human lives are being governed is politics to me. This includes the media's impact on our lives and how it shapes what our discussions are and the response is illustrated in how we build our society, the issues we focus most on, etc. The point does not escape me that this is not the same political discussion that you are typically having here.
  21. I'm not a mod, nor do I have any other power, I just have a single voice. The choice on what you and the community talk about is up to you and them. Pseudo earlier said something along the lines of the community is what we make of it, and that's why I'm here. You can literally or figuratively ignore me, that's fine. Topics will continue to be discussed as they have, is there any doubt about that. I personally believe that talking about these issues derived from the narrative is not going to better anyone here or elsewhere in the long run, but thankfully, you are free to have whatever concerns and focuses in your life, and carry that out in any way you see fit as long as you do not harm others. Either way, thanks for the participation while it lasted.
  22. Correct, I am not privy to private conversations. I'm only privy to what I have seen in this thread, and what I have seen in this thread is everyone is talking about the current events of the day, which comes from the narrative the media corporations send out to us every day. If you don't mind me asking, when you have questioned the media with your friends over these last 10 years of knowing them, have you questioned the existence or purpose of the media? Maybe you have, I don't see that here in this thread. I see repeated discussions about all of the news topics of the day and the topics relating to them. My premise is flawed and is pure bunk. That is your opinion and that's fine. I told you we can agree to disagree about 10 pages back now, so I'm glad we came to a consensus on this.
  23. I will not be participating in politically based topics derived from the narrative, which is 99% of all discussions around the internet, not just here. I'm focused more on what is behind the politics that we are discussing and the mechanisms that bring us those topics.
  24. You are 100% correct in this description. Now expand that for all of the major media we have that is offered in this country.
