Noticed Torii out there working with the outfielders.

Fun day.

Well I was all over, but started by the bullpen tables as they were late coming out. Then went up into the stadium to watch the drills, not surprising you didn't see me as people 3 deep at the railings.  Then I went to the far end and watched Sano, Rosario and that group take bp, then back under by the bullpen.  Are you going tomorrow?

No. Playing tennis instead. Will there be any kind of practice on Wednesday?

Interesting note, no Mauer sightings today.  Watched Santana, Mastro and Buxton take bunting drills and Buxton really put on a show.  If he could bunt like that in a game he'd never have to swing and still hit .500. I was impressed!

Watch Buxton bunt yourself, as if you were Halsey Hall and Bob Sacamento  Enjoy!!!

Wednesday they will practice here, as the game is against Boston, and more than likely many will remain behind. Should be a good day to see those left back at home.

One of the coaches told the groundskeeper on the field next to the stadium "this is the last round of bp on this field this year". The same field that Johan Santana showed up at earlier this morning. A lady I know got his autograph and asked if he'd like to come back to the Twins.  Yes. As a coach? No, as a pitcher. With all these arms down here that don't stand a chance they should have given him one too.  Nothing to lose.

Interesting drill early this morning which I missed but was told about. Mauer was hitting in the cage, a coach throwing the ball to him. Each ball was numbered, 1, 2, or 3. The object was to see if Joe could pick up the number. 

 

Then he and Suzuki hit in the cage with some special glasses that had dials on them to change the view. They would adjust the settings. Suzuki looked as if some of the settings he couldn't see squat. I've never seen either of these before but will keep an eye out.

Cool thing happened at the park today. I was minding my own business watching batting practice on the big field adjacent to the stadium when Tony O walked by. He stopped right in front of me and says, "Wha's happening?" With a smile on my face, I gestured wide with my arms and exclaimed, "Baseball!" He then asked, "Has it been very, very good to you?" "Absolutely!" I said. Then came the question, "How are your hands?" When I responded, "Pretty good," he tossed me a baseball. (Yes, I caught it.) When he told me to check it out, I saw that it was signed. I thanked him very sincerely and then told him I watched him play when I was a little kid. He looked at me and said, "I don't believe that!" He chuckled, the people standing around laughed, and he walked away.
