One hit

Is it me, or have the Twins been one, two or three hit more than usual this year (especially this second half of the season)

Good, what an embarrassing showing. I feel like every time they lose a close or tough game they come out completely flat like this.

Football and hockey season can't start soon enough.

It's not you, too many nights where they look to have no semblance of any plan at the plate.

But if you want to stir up a nest, just mention getting rid of anyone but Nunez or Robinson on this roster, and the defenders will remind you of their value, statistical or emotional to the team.

Well thank goodness we have Joe Mauer on the team. It'd be pretty embarrassing to get no-hit by the same guy twice in one week.

Against Kluber this week:

Mauer 2-7

Rest of team 2-49

We try to avoid stirring up nests around here, everyone is entitled to an argument.

Wait, let me get a "should we keep Torii" post going! But first I have to find my bee bonnet! Lol

Wow. That is just pathetic and sad. You see a guy 6 times in one week, the hitters SHOULD have the advantage at that point.

I guess at least he us the reigning Cy Young winner and not a scrub, but still.

I didn't think he was even all that sharp early on, fell behind 2-0 to a few batters and nobody made him work or pay with the exception of the Escobar and Sano walks, and of course Mauer.

Don't we have one of those already? So far it seems to just have induced head shakes and not much vitriol.

I think batting and pitching coaches tend to get blamed too often for their player's woes and/or lack of talent, and this is such a lazy question, but do you think any of this falls on Bruno and/or other coaching staff?

Posted

Good question. I don't think it falls directly on Bruno necessarily, but Molitor's quotes after the game were about what you would expect-falls on the players this time. Twins batters were too pull happy, they didn't wait back on pitches.

Not having an impact bat or even a mediocre bat on the bench is killing the Twins. When your lineup is struggling you absolutely need a guy like Arcia or even Vargas who can at least PH and be a threat to hit a double or HR

Pretty sure that Kluber gave up three hits in Cleveland, including doubles by Hicks and Robinson.

that would be where the "rest of team" 2-49 came from
