Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 I've been meaning to do this for awhile but never got around to it. Watching the Twins win is fun but sometimes, it's like we've forgotten just how much rotten baseball we watched to get to this point (at least it seems that way with the "trade Pelfrey" talk that persists around the board). So I'm going to track 2015 wins and compare them to previous seasons. Win 37: Game #:2015: 672014: 802013: 842012: 892011: 83
drivlikejehu Verified Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 The 2014 club got to 36 wins on June 22. But #37 came on June 29. That stretch and the August swoon were probably the low points of the season.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 The 2014 club got to 36 wins on June 22. But #37 came on June 29.The season also started seven days earlier in 2014, which is why I'm not using dates.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 It should be noted that in the past four seasons, no Twins team reached the 38 win mark before the season's halfway point. Barring a collapse, the 2015 Twins should do it in the 68-70 game range.
drivlikejehu Verified Member Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 The season also started seven days earlier in 2014, which is why I'm not using dates. The point being that the gap grew by 6 during the time between wins #36 and #37. Just a random observation, no need to get up in arms over it.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 I wasn't up in arms about it. I pointed out why I didn't use dates to track wins.

In this large warehouse over here you'll find meaningless offense and self-assigned victimhood. In that tiny closet over there you'll find real content.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted June 23, 2015 Author Posted June 23, 2015 Win 38: Game #:2015: 702014: 822013: 912012: 902011: 84
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 Win 39. Game #:2015: 722014: 882013: 922012: 932011: 86
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 This is the point when previous teams started collapsing. A huge gap between the 38-39 wins for the 2014 squad.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Even during this recent "slide" the Twins haven't lost too much ground, they now sit 3.5 behind KC which can be made up in less than a week. More importantly they are in the 1st wild card spot as well.
Jerr Verified Member Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 A happy thread with positivity (mostly ).
Linus Verified Member Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 I see the twins scuffling from time to time but not collapsing. Their starting pitching will keep them competitive all season.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted June 28, 2015 Author Posted June 28, 2015 Win 40. Game #:2015: 742014: 892013: 932012: 952011: 87
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 40 wins means that the Twins will exit the troublesome month of June with a winning record for the season (and a little cushion). One more to clinch a winning statistical first half.
Jerr Verified Member Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 WHOAAA!!!! It is so fun, to actually listen/watch the games and thinking "we can win....we are still in this"! Been waaaaaay toooooo loooooong for those feelings!!!
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 1, 2015 Author Posted July 1, 2015 Win 41.Game #:2015: 772014: 902013: 942012: 992011: 89 Yikes, 2012. It took 100 games to reach the 42 win mark.
drjim Provisional Member Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 3 wins away from the 2011 high water mark, soon to be followed by an amazing collapse.

Maybe it's time to start putting the 2010 game #s up as well? How are the Twins doing relative to the last playoff team?
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 7, 2015 Author Posted July 7, 2015 Win 44. Game #:2015: 832014: 942013: 1002012: 1022011: 93 The only team to reach even 47 wins by the 100 game mark was 2011.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 We are moving toward six weeks of mediocre baseball, but there hasn't been a long losing streak mostly because of good starting pitching and Glen Perkins. One more win will guarantee a winning record at the All-Star break.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 7, 2015 Author Posted July 7, 2015 Maybe it's time to start putting the 2010 game #s up as well? How are the Twins doing relative to the last playoff team?If the Twins get back onto a roll, I might start doing this after the ASB.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 Win 45.Game #:2015: 842014: 992013: 1012012: 1052011: 96 Also, I believe this win ensures the Twins have a winning record in the first half.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 Win 46. Game #:2015: 852014: 1002013: 1062012: 1062011: 97 Last three seasons are now at 100 games or higher. In 2011, win 47 came at game 100.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 12, 2015 Author Posted July 12, 2015 Win 48.Game #:2015: 882014: 1052013: 1082012: 1092011: 103 The 2015 Twins are now a full 15 games ahead of the next closest season and 21 games ahead of the worst season.
Jerr Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Bestest as in, happiness thread on Twins Daily!Headed down for todays game, after so much fun at yesterdays!
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 18, 2015 Author Posted July 18, 2015 Winnah 50 times. Game #:2015: 902014: 1102013: 1122012: 1152011: 106 Now a full 16 games ahead of the 2011 squad.
