Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Neil Allen shouldn't have to go out and get Hughes off the fastball. Suzuki should have done that alot earlier. Joe A. Preusser 1

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2015 Author Posted May 5, 2015 Do you really want him to do something that might alter his one-of-a-kind artistry? Think of all of the great writers of the past whose best work might have been lost had they not been a little off kilter. Sometimes you need to sacrifice mental and/or emotional stability for great writing. Yeah but what if it Helps? If it stops my typo's and improves my punctuation perhaps. glunn, Bark's Lounge and SydneyTwinsFan 3
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2015 Author Posted May 5, 2015 Is there a Pulitzer for game thread introductions? There should be!!!

Hrbowski Verified Member Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 (edited) Today at my baseball game our catcher was having one passed ball after another, and the game happened to be televised. While anyways, after about his fifth he went running back to the backstop to pick the ball up, and dropped a f-bomb under his breath, but the mic was right there, so everybody heard it, and that seemed about to be the topic of general conversation in the stands for the rest of the game. That's what makes baseball so wonderful. There was one game that I had front row seats behind home plate at the Metrodome. Cal Ripken Sr. was managing the Orioles at the time and he came out to argue with the umps on something and every other word was the F-Bomb. He was like 90 years old and he said it so often... You couldn't understand what he was trying to say. The F-Bomb was the adjective... Noun... Pro noun... Conjunction... Whatever... He went on like that for about 15 minutes before he finally went back to the dugout. Or... the Clubhouse... cuz he was tossed. Of Course the Ticket holders next to me had a young girl (maybe 7) who could easily hear the entire thing (we all could) and the Mom was trying to cover her ears. Finally the girl yells out cuz her ears were covered and she couldn't tell how loud she was. "Mom... I can still hear Him... Dad says that word all the time" Then the Dad felt compelled to say to everyone around him "I do not... I don't know why she's saying that". It's was a funny yet somewhat uncomfortable feeling the rest of the game. JB_Iowa and Hrbowski 2
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I wouldn't. (It's just a game ... and I don't really even follow hockey that closely ... although living in Chicago, it's been the only winning team of late, so it's been fun to be a bandwagoner.) Joe A. Preusser and Riverbrian 2
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I'm wondering if Rosario gets to play today.I'd bet not, but who knows. I remember when Polanco came up last year for that brief bit and we all waited for him to be played. It'll be interesting to see if Mollie gets him in there sooner.
