TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Holy cow were they impressive their first two games. Couple thoughts: 1). LOVE that Kuemper is the No. 1 goalie. He is a sound to very good goalie with the defense in front of him. 2). Our blue line is very underrated. They are all very capable two way guys with a nice balance of size and speed. 3). Parise looks like someone shot him out of a canon and his line mates are right there with him. I think this is a top Cup contender by the end of the year - get excited people!
drjim Provisional Member Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Nice. I look forward to checking in when the playoffs start.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Very good team, will be difficult for anyone to play against come playoff time.
GCTF Verified Member Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 The Wild will be fun to follow this year. If the goaltending holds up they could make a nice run next spring.

Agree again - adding Dumba and Folin has added more mobility and offensive acumen. Clayton who? 3. Parise has no off switch. Having leaders like Parise, Suter, and Koivu to mentor our youth, all hard workers themselves, welcome to the hive.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Going to come down to health, there are a few guys like Suter, Keumper, Parise etc that we can't afford to lose for long. However, team looks amazing so far on all four lines and top 4 D. If dumba and Folin develop...watch out! Also I LOVE the Brodin signing, hopefully Granlund and Coyle aren't far behind. Granlund is a future (if not present) all star center and Coyle is gritty as hell. Zuckers play thus far has been super encouraging as well. Looks to be a top 9 guy for sure (top 6 on most teams) Nice change of pace from the other Minnesota sports teams!
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Also, where do you guys get your wild news? I think Russo is absolutely great and I get a lot from him, hockeywilderness is a great site that goes a bit into the advanced metrics etc while note going overboard, and I find the rubechat Wild Chat board to actually be halfway decent and not the cesspool that twins and Vikings chat is. Do you guys have any good sites to read/chat the Wild?
