Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Game-time forecast: Sunny. Winds blowing from right to left field at 5-10 m.p.h. Temperature around 60. TWINS:SP, May Santana SSSuzuki CMauer 1BPlouffe 3BArcia RFPinto DHHermann LFEscobar 2BSchafer CF PALE HOSE:SP, Noesi Eaton CFRamirez SSAbreu 1BGillaspie 3BGarcia RFWilkins DHViciedo LFSanchez 2BNieto C ---------------------------- Okay, Brian ... sigh ... I think I'm going to be a glutton for punishment and go to the game. Maybe. Sigh. Post a good one.---------------------------- Sigh... I don't think I have a good one in me. Things to think about: 1. The Vikings -- It's Sunday and the Vikings are 1-0... The Twins just lost a doubleheader to the White Sox and the Twins are not going to be in the playoffs once again. I would be completely dishonest if I didn't say that the Vikings are thought #1 today. Go Vikes!!! Checking out the Vikings Journal for a fresh new Vikings Forum. 2. AP -- Everything that is going on with AP is my fault. I'm sorry but losing AP for a spell was all but guaranteed... Here's why. I drafted AP in my fantasy football league... That's why. I hate Fantasy Football but I play it every year and every year I've never been in draft position to draft AP and I've always wanted him. So... When I found out that I had the 1st pick overall... AP was ranked 4th overall but I didn't care... I wanted AP so I could cheer for my Vikings and fantasy team at the same time and he wouldn't be around for my 2nd choice so I drafted him and I told everyone that I just guaranteed that AP won't be around for a good chunk of the year. Oh Yeah... I also drafted Ray Rice so I'm doing well. On AP's recent troubles with the law... I'm not making light of it... I'm making light of my fantasy luck. When it comes to the AP situation. I don't know all the details and I will not make any judgments. That's the way that I look at things and I know that many others do not look at things like I do. AP is going to be vilified for quite some time if not forever. 3. The Twins -- Oh Yeah... This is a Baseball Game Thread... I admit that I am still interested in the Twins but from a development standpoint only. I think the offense and defense is coming along and I don't have any suggestions. I think the pitching is not coming along and I don't have any suggestions either. When I don't have any suggestions on development... It makes it hard to watch the Twins for Development. I don't like the Free Agent Class for 2015 at all and I don't want to trade youth for anything. I think we will have to ride this out for awhile. 4. Strikeouts -- The Twins strikeout way too much... It was really bad last year... It's hasn't been as bad this year but after games like yesterday... It's still bad enough. Put the ball in play boys... Put the ball in play!!! Along with pitching... Simple Contact at the plate would be a priority going forward. 5. Amazing -- My son had a cookie yesterday and I heard him say... "This Cookie is Amazing". This got me to thinking... What happens if my Son takes a bite of a cookie and says... "This is Cookie is Amazing"... and immediately afterwards... A Dog walks in the door... Looks at him and in clear spoken english... the Dog Says to him... "Really... You find a cookie amazing... Do you mind if I have one"? And the Dog says this in clear spoken English while the dog starts to levitate and float across the room. If My Son thinks the cookie is amazing... What adjective can he now use to describe the dog.
Kwak Verified Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 May starting and a wind to LF, there will be runs scored. We don't want a repeat of last Sunday's 1-0 game. On a different front, perhaps the baserunning can be improved for today's game?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 May starting and a wind to LF, there will be runs scored. We don't want a repeat of last Sunday's 1-0 game. On a different front, perhaps the baserunning can be improved for today's game? There's a certain....uniqueness to watching a team need consecutive doubles to score a runner--a pinch runner at that--from second base. If they can't be good, at least they're unique. Not routinely bad. Gloriously, incontrovertibly, uniquely bad. So there's that. I'll be watching AP tear up the Pats.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2014 Author Posted September 14, 2014 Decided not to go. I just have no motivation to sit there and watch ... just what I'd end up seeing, who knows. Just can't do it. I might even tune into the Vikings game periodically, which says a lot.

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Yes with the Vikings trailing 67-5 at half we can al zero in on the Twins pennant race...
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 And Herrmann... You forgot to mention Herrmann. Herrmann would not be forgotten about at 1313 Mockingbird LaneFred Gwynne for next Twins Manager! 2015! oh I mean Gene Glynn not Fred Gwynne... Minnesota sports... *sigh*
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 So we just need May to throw a perfect game, then he won't have to pitch from the stretch.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 If Trevor May ever has a daughter. He's got to name her April.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 I can't believe it... I was looking forward to watching the Vikes all week. Now I'm sitting here... Watching the Twins. Old habits I guess.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2014 Author Posted September 14, 2014 Or, it's just really a sad statement that the Twins are the better watch of the day.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Or, it's just really a sad statement that the Twins are the better watch of the day.It depends on your mood. If you are half Empty today... It's a sad statement.... If you are half full of it... Like I am. I'm thinking... At the least the Twins are playing alright.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 May has really been OK this inning. The Sox got a couple of hits off of pretty good pitches.
Monkeypaws Verified Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Just turned on the bottom of the 4th - liking May with good command and 2 Ks so far, although it looks like he had some trouble earlier. Make that 3 Ks. Like to see a guy slowly getting better, as opposed to slowly worse, like Albers. Wish Meyer would have had the chance to get his feet wet this year too - this will help May a lot next season.
snepp Verified Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Well that's one way to shut down a rally.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Just flipped over to the Twins. Hey, May's box looks pretty good so far... Missing lots of bats.
snepp Verified Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 I blame myself for that one.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Just flipped over to the Twins. Hey, May's box looks pretty good so far... Missing lots of bats. He's been tough... The Sox strung a couple together in the 4th. But they singled on some good pitches so I can't fault May. Now... That last pitch... That was a cookie.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2014 Author Posted September 14, 2014 I blame myself for that one.So do the rest of us.
snepp Verified Member Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Hell yeah, attaboy Trevorsie.
