Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Game-time forecast: Sunny. Winds blowing from right to left field at 5-10 m.p.h. Temperature around 70. ANGELS:SP, Wilson Kendrick 2BTrout CFPujols DHHamilton LFFreese 3BAybar SSIannetta CCron 1BCowgill RF TWINS:SP, Darnell Dozier 2BNunez LFMauer 1BVargas DHPlouffe 3BPinto CParmelee RFEscobar SSHicks CF -------------------------------------- I don't know if Brian is yet out of things to think about. Knowing Brian, I can't imagine that to be the case. But we'll just have to wait and see.------------------------------------- It's getting pretty close... My Brain is making a squeeking sound... It is clearly low on oil. Things to Think About: 1. The Vikings -- Just how many people will be watching the Twins today with the Vikings opening Sunday. I'm watching the Vikes and I'll be flipping to the Twins between snaps. Can Norv Turner game plan this offense into something worthwhile. Will Cassel act like a #1 QB... Will AP score a touchdown on his first possession like he predicted and why didn't AP just predict a victory. I would have liked a statement like that instead. And the Defense... Do the Vikings have a defense this year? 2. Phil Hughes -- I didn't get to see him pitch last night but he gave the Twins a chance to win. Yesterday I posed the question... Are the Twins pitchers just pitching bad or are the Angels just hitting good. Like I said... I didn't see the game but based on the score... I think it isn't to reach to conclude that the Angels are hitting good. 3. Logan Darnell -- Tom Milone has a dead arm... We will have to wait on the Autopsy results to see what killed it but with Milone having a dead arm. Logan Darnell makes the start today against what is a very hot hitting Angels team. On Paper... You are led to believe that the Angels will score early and often. However... I've seen it many times before... On paper isn't always reality... Many times I've seen some guy they have never seen before keep them in check until the bullpen coughs it up. 4. CJ Wilson -- CJ hasn't been very good this year... His ERA sits at 4.66 and he just got done coughing up 5 runs in 3 innings to the Astro's. If the Twins offense is hot and it seems to be... On Paper... The Twins should cross the plate a few times. Of Course... On Paper isn't always reality. 5. The Roof -- I was trying to think of a Thought #5... In contemplation... I looked upward and stared at the roof. This made me think of the possibility of a joke about the Roof. After giving it some thought... I decided to pass on a Roof Joke because I figured it would just be over everybody's head.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Up against the Vikings, I expect the ratings will be pretty poor on this one.

Like I said... I didn't see the game but based on the score... I think it isn't to reach to conclude that the Angels are hitting good. I think the Angels are hitting good. They are a good team. They are playoff bound, pretty much, I think, unless they fall completely apart between now and the end of the month which I don't see happening. So yeah, they are playoff bound and they have that 'edge' of 'meaningful games.' But I also think the Twins RP is tired, physically and mentally, tired.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Looks like, if I want to talk to myself, I've found the right place.

I don't get it. Is this a subtle dig at domes?

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Looks like, if I want to talk to myself, I've found the right place. Is there a wrong place to talk to one's self? If you can't talk to yourself, who can you talk to? On second thought, maybe i don't want to know the answers to either of these questions... However, i am looking forward to a twins answer to what the angels are doing now...
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 Okay ... what'd I miss?

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Hicks... Been a different guy since the recall. I'm ok with him on the big club next year.... With... A.. Safety net!!!
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I don't get it. Is this a subtle dig at domes?"You Must Be THIS TALL To Ride This Joke"
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Bases loaded, none out. You'd think time for a big inning. It hasn't worked that way most of the season.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Hicks... Been a different guy since the recall. I'm ok with him on the big club next year.... With... A.. Safety net!!!Such a small sample size, and he's teased us with apparent progress at times, so I'll wait until next June to get very interested. But it's a good trend, no question.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Three runs, not exactly an explosion, but got all three of the walks home.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 Three runs, not exactly an explosion, but got all three of the walks home.I'll take 3 as opposed to none.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 3-3, who woulda thunk that three runs wasn't enough?
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 glad i bought all that ice cream yesterday. looks like i'll need it to get through this game.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 3-3, who woulda thunk that three runs wasn't enough?stringer, I have a feeling it could have been 5 or 10, and it still wouldn't have been enough
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 Too bad I can't also watch the Vikings game. /s
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 3rd verse worse then the 2nd verse which was worse then the 1st Verse. I'm starting pitcher the VII I am.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 Do any of you have the TSA pre-check thing, or Global Entry?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Would that be known as a 1-2-3, 4-5-6 inning? It is still 3-3, so things could be worse.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Do any of you have the TSA pre-check thing, or Global Entry?I get the Pre-check notation at random times, and haven't been able to figure out a pattern. Reno isn't a hub and I fly too many different airlines, so that might be why the noise is drowning out the signal for me. I filled out whatever info the airlines have asked for, and haven't paid anything (don't think I was even offered the option), so I'm in some in-between level of blessedness.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 An important bulletin about this game: Pee-yew.
