Get some good swings in! --------------------------With my Obliques? Things to Think About: 1. The White Sox -- Here's how much I hate the White Sox. The Twins could take a player... any player on the Twins roster. Waterboard him just for entertainment... Place him in an outhouse and tip it over with him locked inside... They could call his wife and pretend to be a girlfriend wondering where he is. They could force him to carry all bags for the entire team... Refuse to play him while he wastes on the bench and the press is told nasty things about his attitude. They could flat out ruin his career and then eventually release him. I would feel sorry for that player... unless he signs with the White Sox after. Then I would just hate him. Come to think of it. Isn't all that stuff what the Twins are doing with Chris Parmelee the past 3 years... Just Kidding. 2. Hector Noesi -- We've faced Noesi before and I've already done a thing on him. So I'll just add that he is still a questionable pitcher with a a 5.21 ERA. Every once in awhile he will throw a decent game but I think that's because the team he faced didn't feel like playing that day. If the Twins feel like playing... Noesi won't be able to do anything about it. 3. The Standings -- I'm strangely as comfortable as I can be with the current standings. I don't want the White Sox to have a better record than the Twins have ever but I also don't want the White Sox to draft before the Twins either. Since both teams are(most likely) not playoff bound. I'm OK with the Twins being just a tish below the Pale Hose. 4. Danny Santana -- It was fun watching him yesterday. He had a great game and I think he does much better when he doesn't have to face pitchers like David Price and Yu Darvish. Maybe he'll get that figured out later. I look for him to continue slapping the ball around against Noesi. 5. Jimmy Buffett -- With all apologies to the Parrotheads out there. I'm not a Jimmy Buffett fan. It's ok... We all like what we like and it's ok. I won't think less of you and you shouldn't think less of me. Margaritaville and Come Monday are OK songs... I don't mind them but all the rest of them have the same tone and style and it just isn't my style. I bring this up because a guy I work with is a Parrothead to the Max and today he was blasting Jimmy Buffett out of his office. One Buffett song after another for a couple of hours. I think he played the entire catalog. I was looking for a barometer just to measure how deep of a tropical depression I was falling into.
hawkiconk Provisional Member Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 noesi will start fast and get burnt bad in the 3rd or 4th100 pitches before the 6th is finished, if he lasts that long gillaspie is intriguing to me, total concentration and zero signs of emotionand how many other hitters do not use batting gloves?

Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Show me, bunt on, bunt off. Show me, paint the corners. Show me, swing for the fence. If done right, no can defense.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 My wife detests Jimmy Buffet. I don't have an opinion.

Circus Boy Verified Member Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Mr. Crarko, I see your Lumberjack Song verse and it made me smile. Played it for my workers the other day on the interwebs -- all women -- and they thought it was a scream. Still sing it when I wear big check shirts.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Oh wait, maybe it's Neil Diamond she detests. How about Barry Manilow?
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Oh wait, maybe it's Neil Diamond she detests. Saw Neil Diamond sing in Cincinnati a lifetime ago. Most white people I've ever witnessed in one place.

Gibby Provisional Member Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 I nailed The Palms casino in Vegas for 70 grand a couple years ago. I put all the cash in my sock drawer, and the missus discovered it before I could explain. I stuttered for a week.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 That'll teach him to keep the ball down.
