Question...I have my 35th HS reunion in a few days. I haven't been to any previous reunions. I didn't hate high school, but I wasn't crazy about a huge chunk of the school population. Should I bother going?

Can't advise. After I had my 20th, they tried to have a 30th and no one wanted to serve on the committee. So they didn't even try to organize a committee for my 40th. (And this was with a graduating class of 96 -- maybe we were just always ornery.)

 

Sounds like RB had a pretty good time at his recent one, though.

Oh these guys are crazy for their reunions. I saw the pictures of the 30th, and I've aged much better than my classmates. I might go just because of that. I was a cake eater, if you know what I mean.

And you can brag on your gorgeous and talented daughters.

 

But I have to tell you, they print reunion photos in our local paper. The women ALWAYS look much better than the men.

After the weight loss, heck yes! Actually, it varies for everybody. I come from a tiny school and I had only kept track of one classmate. However, I had nothing against anyone so I went to all of the reunions. I drew the short straw at my 30th and proceeded to delay the reunion from 35 to 40 years. When we got together two years ago, all that were there had a nice time and some of us had a really good time. We voted to meet again in five years. The one person I barely talked to was my closest friend in high school and the only one I had stayed in contact with.

I'd actually bet that isn't true. People lose kids and spouses and they still have health problems and have to deal with aging parents. Your classmates may have been cushioned against some of the hard knocks but reality bites.
