I know that the Twins really try hard to sign their top 12-15 picks... so I would think there would be a good chance, but you never know. They generally have a pretty good idea if they can sign a guy or not.

His family is having a draft party and he's in pictured wearing a Twins cap so I'd think signs are good. He also tweeted about how lucky he was being drafted by the hometown team. Hopefully they can get Boldt next year :)

@asmiff: #MNTwins director of scouting Deron Johnson expects to sign at least 25 of 40 draft picks, "Maybe a few more."

Believe it or not, I just graduated today with the Twins 34th round pick, Michael Baumann. It was really cool that the Twins picked him, but I doubt he will sign. Just throwing that out there.

Amazing catch by Tanner English on the highlight video. Any chance he could be signed and ready to play Sunday? LOL

Really happy to see the Twins draft 2B Pat Kelly. Gotta be team leader and MVP for the Huskers. Batted cleanup this past season. Very solid and clutch. Very much the

"gamer" type. Not as versatile as Christensen, also from the Huskers, who I'm thinking might be the real deal as an eventual super-utility type capable of helping at 6 positions. But Kelly is a really nice ball player and a great pick. Kind of torn about him signing though, I admit, as I want him with the Twins but also want home back with Erstad and my Big Red next season.

You have me intrigued by Roberto Gonzalez. Really like to know more about him. Is this a potential steal?

Late picks, I think the Twins should consider going over any normal slot value for #20 pick 3B McCarthy Tatum. Don't know a thing about him, but Fresno State is a top power who doesn't recruit slouches. Wondering if this might be the kind of kid, who if he doesn't sign, might be a top 10 round pick in a few years.

Like the Vavra pick but it was also expected. The Guthrie pick is also neat.

Thank you Willihammer for your notes! Very appreciated.

No offense to Buxton, Sano, Meyer, May or anyone else in the Twins minor leagues, but the minute he is hopefully signed, my most favorite Twins minor leaguer will be Theo Theofanopoulos. This kid absolutely has to make the show!

Yeah, I would assume he wouldn't drafted at that point. Might as well go to college and be great and sign in the Top few rounds in 3 years.

Went heavy on hs players to wrap up the draft, wonder how many are signable.

Greatly depends on how many of the Top 10 picks are willing to take below slot, and by how much.

DocBauer -Gonzalez if very intriguing. Very fast runner - 6.6 60 - hits 94, so a great arm! Very much a toolsy type. Would move very slowly, but I like that upside!

More catchers than outfielders. ... is that normal?

I think catching is still a major weakness of this team's organization even after making significant draft picks last year. From my database here are the catching prospects in the organization:

At the top of the organization you can see that the catchers are older, journeyman types than anything else. I think they want to just find a catcher or two to follow last year's selections: Turner, Garver, and Navvarreto up the rungs.

Looking at the organization, there is a significant talent gap in the top two levels of the minors. Many of those spots are held by long time minor league veterans rather than true prospects. It is something perhaps to be expected given that there are several prospects at the MLB level and most of our high level prospects were just recently drafted. But it is also a function of the Twins slow method of advancing minor league players.
