GSM Provisional Member Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 "I feel like a banker in this" That's perfect! Good one! "That's my wife" "Does she know that?"
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 If you're going to do quotes, you have to get a bit creative. Quoting quotes from movies everyone has seen and everyone knows isn't original. C'mon man. (I'm a bit of a movie buff and a quote snob) "Klaatu Barada..... Lu..... Necktie..... Nectar...... Nickel..... Noodle..... it's an "N" word..... it's definitely an "N" word."
John Bonnes Site Manager Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 What do we think of a bunt here? I guess I like it, if he pulls it off. I'd rather Doier bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd and 1 out than Florimon with runners on 1st and 2nd and 0 outs.

John Bonnes Site Manager Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Yup. a bunt would've been better than that.
John Bonnes Site Manager Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 And that line drive from Dozier would've scored Suzuki. Sigh.

GSM Provisional Member Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 "Juuuuuust a bit outside" Too obvious. Fail.

cmathewson Provisional Member Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 "So I jump ship at Nam, and I make my way to Tibet, and I catch on as a looper in a course in the Himalayas. A looper, a caddy, a looper. And who do I get on my first card by the Dalai Lama himself, the 12th son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald, striking. And he's a heavy hitter. Long balls. So he wacks off on the first tee and hits one 400 yards into a three mile crevice at the base of this glacier. And you know what he says? Gunka, dalunka da gunk a, gunk a da gunk a. So we get done with 18 and I thought he was going to stiff me one. So I say Dolly. Lama. How about a little something for the effort. And he says 'There will be no money. But when you die, on your death bed, you wil receive total consciousness'. So I got that going for me. Which is nice, I think."
John Bonnes Site Manager Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Hold it - did we just knock Bruce Chen out of the game before out starter? In the fourth inning? This movie quote thing is good luck....
twinscowboysbulls Verified Member Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 This little opposite field loop to right field that he has found has completely changed his value, IMHO. He could suddenly be a .270 hitter instead of a .230 hitter and not completely worthless against right-handers. A guy with his profile who hits .270 is Michael Cuddyer at third base. Sort of like when I compared the two this offseason and wa hung on the cross for it!?

jokin Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 You're stumping me w/ this Oh yeah, take this, "snob": "If you wanna know something and he won't tell you, cut off one of his fingers. The little one. Then tell him his thumb's next. After that he'll tell you if he wears ladies underwear. I'm hungry. Let's get a taco."
John Bonnes Site Manager Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Sort of like when I compared the two this offseason and wa hung on the cross for it!? Until I see the holes in your hands, I'll remain a doubting Thomas. But I hope you're right. (About Plouffe, not about being crucified.)
