Intramural Legend Verified Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Nice afternoon for a nap. No need to taunt those of us sitting in the office...
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 "we are building the staff so we can stay in games, and not get buried right away" looks about as accurate sof far this year as "we are planning to play meaningful games in September" was last year.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 At this rate Phil won't even have time to wipe!
zchrz Provisional Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 This review stuff has been terrible, let them go out and yell at each other for 45 seconds and get on with the damn game.
Intramural Legend Verified Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 This review stuff has been terrible, let them go out and yell at each other for 45 seconds and get on with the damn game. Completely agree - there has to be a better / faster way.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Kubel can hit a HR at Target??? Who Knew???? Good sign.
James Verified Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Completely agree - there has to be a better / faster way. That sounds like you're about to sell us something, Billy Mays style.
Westgaard66 Verified Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Is anybody else thinking this plate ump is having issues?
Intramural Legend Verified Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 That sounds like you're about to sell us something, Billy Mays style. Well, with 9 easy payments...
Gibby Provisional Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Well, with 9 easy payments... ...but will it blow my hair back?
zenser Verified Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Is anyone concerned that Mauer has 8 Ks in 29 ABs?
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Anyone think Phil is going to pitch a complete game today? He's on pace to throw 252 pitches in 9 innings.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Well at least we are keeping up the chase for most strikeouts by a team in a season. On pace for 1620 record is 1935. Always nice to have goals!

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Plus his ERA is down to nine now.....strong trend, soon it will be 1.
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Good play to cut it off, terrible relay
gocgo Verified Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Good news - we have 4 guys in the lineup all hitting over .300 and none of them are named Joe Mauer. Bad news - we have 4 guys in the lineup all hitting under .200 and none of them are named Joe Mauer.
gocgo Verified Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Is anyone concerned that Mauer has 8 Ks in 29 ABs? No. He usually starts slow and one of the K's was on a pitch 6 inches outside. I'm finding that the umps are really having a tough time figuring out the strike zone early and so are the batters.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 After the last 3 years I really wish I had these to take before every game!http://siquieroporsandrallopis.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/happy-pills-bote.jpg

LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Nice job by Herrmann cutting off the gapper. Hoping he and Colabello will continue to give Ron absolutely no reason to play Bartlett in an outfield corner again.
James Verified Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Well, at least Florimon didn't strike out.

Gibby Provisional Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 I'm watching my kid totally dominate on a volleyball court in Italy. I wish I was there for it.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 No. He usually starts slow and one of the K's was on a pitch 6 inches outside. I'm finding that the umps are really having a tough time figuring out the strike zone early and so are the batters. After 7 straight seasons of swinging strike rates that never exceeded 4.3%, Mauer swung and missed nearly 6% of the time last year, and he's started out this season at 6.9%. It's too early to be worried, but it's something to watch. Two percent doesn't sound like much, but over the course of the season it's dozens of additional swings and misses. It will be interesting, especially after two more looking K's today, to see if Mauer gets tired of letting umpires still struggling with their strike zones determine the outcomes of his AB's.
Westgaard66 Verified Member Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 1.) Jesus Christ on Ice Skates is Mauer's approach to hitting frustrating. At bats like his last one make me want to scream at him. His 2nd at bat he jumped on the 1st pitch for a single. Why doesn't he do that more often?!?!?!? 2.) That base running by Plouffe just made me cringe.
Marek Houston Wichita Wind Surge - AA SS On Saturday, Houston went 3-for-5 and scored two runs. After a short slump, he is now back over .290 on the season. Explore Marek Houston News >
