After a rough, Mother Nature influenced series, in which the Twins were forced to use every one of their pitchers in a double-header vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday, they received a valiant effort from their prized off-season acquisition, Ricky Nolasco, on Friday night to stave off a catastrophic pitching predicament moving into the weekend. Although Nolasco was able to save the bullpen with a complete game, 3-earned run effort, it wasn’t enough to save himself from taking a loss
Escobar clearly took command of shortstop, will he continue to hit? Not at that rate for sure..but at least he gives you the possibility of making contact... Kris Johnson? No Way.. Wait for Jose.... CF? I really like Fuld but History suggests...He will falter...Trade a AA prospect for established CF? I certainly wouldnt put all my eggs in The Buxton Basket
One possible outcome of the come to jesus meeting with Pelfrey (as mentioned) might be to eat the salary since he sounds against both bullpen and demotion options. Frankly, I am all for it a) because it is not my money at least Nishi had the class to forego his last year of guaranteed money which the brass could apply to this contract mistake and c) how much would it cost to bring back Scott Baker?? Surely his AAA numbers bode well for AT THE MINIMUM an improvement over what Pelf has given us.
If you are a real baseball junkie, Thursday was a great day of baseball. The Twins organization played EIGHT baseball games yesterday. The Twins played two (lost both), the Red Wings played one (squandered a great pitching performance), the Rock Cats palyed two (split a double header), the Miracle played one (a lopsided loss) and then Kernels played two as well (swept both sides of a double header). With so much baseball action on Thursday, we will get right to it! [ATTACH=CONFIG]7323[/ATTA
Well said. If the Twins were publicly owned, this would be in the opening statement of a prosecution against ownership. Nobody's perfect, you can't win 'em all, etc. But enough is enough.
Since it has been raining for 40 days and 40 nights, this week’s No Juice midweek shortcast tackles the timely question: Should the Twins have put a damn roof over Target Field? Since neither of us was alive to keep the Metrodome from being built, joining Dan and I to discuss this heated topic is my Dad, Old Blue. You can listen at our website or catch us on iTunes. The Twins added Kenny Wilson who was DFA'd by the Blue Jays, Alex Meyer learned to throw a nasty change up and Eduardo Escobar seems to have taken over the SS duties from Pedro Florimon. No one in the starting rotation is very good at throwing baseballs lately. With so many off days instead of finding a hitter and pitcher of the

Instead, he decided that he'd stay here and go to spring training and see if he could be a major league player. He made the 25 man roster out of spring training and has exceeded expectations so far. In 23 games, Colabello has batted .308/.351/.505 with 3 homeruns, 27 RBIs and 11 runs scor
Do I understand this correctly? Eddie Rosario a top prospect for the MN Twins, smoked pot KNOWING..he could be tested for illegal substances? I wont engage in the merits or dangers of smoking MJ. However if you have the world in front of you and YOU HAVE TO SMOKE WEED...isn't is just a matter of time before your character catches up with you? I have to believe it is.... I think this shows long term weakness and once he comes back if he puts up great numbers..I urge the Twins to trade him,
Future Stars: Miguel Sano and Byron Buxton. Emerging Rookie: Josmil Pinto Revelation: Chris Colabello. Starter who Finally "gets it": Trevor Plouffe. Only player to establish himself in 2013: Brian Dozier. What do all of these position players have in common? They are all right handed hitters. Since the emergence of MVPs Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau the Twins have definitely leaned left. Perhaps not in sheer numbers, but the most feared and respected hitters were lefties. The sto
Heading in to the 2014 season, everyone pretty much had expectations in check with regard to the Cedar Rapids Kernels. The team's fortunes would likely turn on the performance of a staff of young, highly heralded pitching prospects. The offense, meanwhile, could very well struggle to score enough runs to keep the Minnesota Twins' Midwest League affiliate competitive. As they near the end of the first month of the season, however, the Kernels are two games above .500 with a 13-11 record
Weather played an issue in Minneapolis, as the Twins couldn't get in the first game of their series with the Dodgers. The game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader on Thursday. Kyle Gibson was supposed to start on Sunday before a rainout and now he got pushed back to Wednesday. He should be well rested. Some of the other speculation for Thursday is about who the Twins could call-up to be their 26th man for the doubleheader. The Twins could be looking at starting pitcher to start one
I laced up my spikes for another opening day, my 4th as a pro. Over all the years of playing, there have been a number of memorable moments. They can be best described by the feelings that accompanied them. The feeling of over 10000 fans shaking the ground beneath me at an NCAA regional final, the feeling of winning a Big Ten Championship, the feeling of clinching a playoff berth. It's feelings like these that stick in my head, it's these feelings that keep me trucking along. For so long, I ha

I am not a follower of Donald Trump. I have participated in several no kings rallies and am disgusted with what he and his followers have done to our country and the world. I would like to know what most Brazilians feel about the United States now and about the folks our citizens have elected to represent us.
