On last week's episode of Talk to Contact, Darren "Doogie" Wolfson spent some time with us discussing the possibility of a Brian Dozier contract extension. He mentioned that Dozier's agent has already approached the Twins about this possibility. By the end of the interview, he said he wouldn't be surprised if Dozier has a new contract in place by the end of spring training next year. From the perspective of the Twins front office, there might not be a reason to be in a rush with Dozier. He di
Danny Santana is a major league prospect. He isn't in the Twins' Top Ten and he isn't a Top 100 prospect in minor league baseball. Most players with his pedigree don't become stars, but some do and I imagine some become All-Stars and most likely some have become Hall of Fame players. Santana's strength as a prospect are his raw tools. He has great speed and a strong arm. His minor league stats have been unremarkable. Finally, he is a prospect in a position of need for his team. Santan
During Saturday's Fox Sports North telecast, Dick Bremer and Jack Morris were discussing the Minnesota Twins rotating crew of misfits in the the outfield. More specifically, they were talking about how injuries to Josh Willingham and Oswaldo Arcia have caused the team to play a 1B/DH hybrid in RF (Colabello) and whatever middle infielder they can find in LF (Nuñez, Escobar, Bartlett). Dick then went on to say (I'm paraphrasing a bit here, but the context is the same): Imagine if the Twins pit
With the signings of Kubel, Bartlett and Guerrier, comments overwhelmingly went like these below. No risk? No impact on the 40 man roster? Alex Presley Brooks Raley Darin Mastroianni Signing decline phase players (even to minor league contracts) does have a risk. It kept the Twins from seeking other younger solutions. It invests playing time into players with no upside. It costs a few younger players on the 40 man roster who have a better long term shot at being a role
Wow Gardy is no longer in love with the Mendoza line! Love todays lineup, Gardy is desperately trying to get some hitting in the lineup..absolutely love Santana being in, love Parmalee call up...love ANYBODY is spelling Kubel for a bit..(he will rebound) One thing concerning..is Pinto finally starting to hit again..but sitting..but Suzuki is Superman!..I know the cape will tear eventually..but loving seeing him fly!
Outside of shortstop, there may not be another position player with lower offensive expectations than catcher. The physical toll of the position forces many elite offensive players into other roles – Bryce Harper, for instance, was moved from catcher to outfielder immediately after being drafted in an effort to extend his career. Others, such as Joe Mauer or (eventually) Buster Posey are moved later into their career when the beatings sustained as a catcher threatens to shorten their playing tim

The Twins fell behind early and while they managed to pull within one run after the top of the seventh, the Indians pulled away for a nine to four victory. Every team in the Twins system was on the road today, and the road was not a friendly place. Transactions The Twins announced that they

The Miracle are the only affiliate not to have Video and/or Photos on their website from this season. We are 30+ game in to season and fans have no way to evaluate their prospects other than the written material they read on website. I would love to see what some of these guys look like (even an occasional photo). Despite new ownership move - what is the excuse for limited news coverage? How awesome would it have been to see Buxton score from 2nd on a wild pitch? Etc. Etc. Any thoughts?..

We were one of the podcasts removed, we were fired up, and spent the first ten or so minutes discussing this entire situation. We also had the opportunity to purchase some free tickets through ScoreBig.com, an online ticket auct
The Twins fell to the Indians 4-3 tonight in walk-off fashion, but received a quality start effort from Ricky Nolasco, who bucked his early season strikeout deficiency, and racked up nine K’s in his six innings. The strikeout trend would continue with a few of the Twins top pitching prospects on the evening. TRANSACTIONS The Twins activated their 2013 15th round draft pick, pitcher Derrick Pinella, and assigned him to Cedar Rapids. The 6’2” lefty pitched at the Mount San Antonio (Californ
Please report. Movie, not fajitas. Unless...explosive d... Aaanyway. Looks like a Monumental (no, not sorry) story, and a cast kinda like a 60/70's about WWII like Midway, Battle of the Bugle (sp!), but something seemed a bit off. Interested in your finding. Be creatively deceptive if you respond. Word is MLB is watching.

We're one of the many podcasts affected. So far, based on what he's been able to find so far, John Bonnes has found that in addition to Twins podcasts, the Cubs, Orioles and Mets. While this
(Originally posted on twinsandlosses.com) As the saying goes: “April showers bring May flowers.” They also bring two rainouts at Target Field in a matter of three days. Following the rain spell the Twins frolicked their merry way to four straight losses in ways that made you want to do a rain dance in your living room. Fun stats include: a team RISP ratio of 7-40 (17.5%), a team strikeout rate of 27% and Jared Burton generously giving a 12th inning homerun to Drew Butera. April showers shou

However, having a 13 man pitching staff has it’s drawbacks, especially when you have a player who’s day to day as in the case of Joe Mauer, who’s currently day to day with back spasms. With one less player on the bench, you don’t have as much flexibility. On Monday,

I am not a follower of Donald Trump. I have participated in several no kings rallies and am disgusted with what he and his followers have done to our country and the world. I would like to know what most Brazilians feel about the United States now and about the folks our citizens have elected to represent us.
