I think Santana has a lot of potential, but he really can't play shortstop. Can he learn? Who knows? Send him back to AAA if you want him to develop his shortstop skills. He's doing better in CF that anyone on the roster except Hicks, so using him as this year's backup CF is working for me.

He's hitting way better than Hicks, and he's been almost as good if not as good as Hicks in CF. That's more of an indictment of Hicks, but Santana has earned it too. As RiverBrian said, if you're making a super utility guy, commit. When Full/Arcia come back, send Hicks to AAA to learn to be a 4th outfielder without the pressure or pitching of the bigs.

I got to see him play on Saturday...thank you mlbnetwork...first twins game I watched in 4 years. I saw Santana pick it at short deep and the hole and take two steps and gun the runner down at first. This kid has a CANNON. And the play was smooth and nicely done.
