Twins fans,
I have been a Twins fan for over 30 years and we all share a deep fandom, love and passion for the team. Over the years I've been able to meet players and collect some cool Twins items and I'd love to get the communities experiences also.
In the title of this article, I asked "Whats your favorite"...Twins autographed item you have? If you don't have any autographs, what's your most sentimental or favorite Twins item?
Lastly, keep this positive, I want to use this as a
He is one of seven Twins players to play in both the 1987 and 1991 World Series. He has the last World Series hit and at bat for the Twins. He also has the biggest hit in Twins World Series history. Gene Larkin was my guest for this championship level episode of The Show About The Show Podcast. We talked about many things such as his career in the minors, how he had to grind, how failing helped him to later succeed, what makes Tom Kelly a baseball genius in his eyes and who would win a 7 game Wo
Career against left handed pitchers BA - .262; OPB - .328; SLG - .449; OPS - .777. This year has been worse as expected. He can play 1B, OF and DH. Mancini's fielding is not as good as Gallo's but he would be an extremely low cost, RH hitter. Mancini, a survivor of colon cancer, was one of the first to reach out to Liam Hendricks, when Hendricks was diagnosed with cancer. A classy move.
One of the Twins strengths this season has been its ability to pitch. Whether it's from the starting rotation or the bullpen, the staff has been fantastic this year. However, one prospect who was moving up and hoping to be a part of this staff, Matt Canterino, the Twins #9 ranked prospect by MLB.com is out for the year with Tommy John surgery. I recently caught up with him to find out how things are going in his recovery, where he's at in the rehab process and a more!
DC: how's the rehab go
I have to confess I do not know how to feel about the lack of movement at the deadline. I am glad we did not give up quality prospects in order to secure average MLB talent that will not significantly impact this years results. At the same time it is very disallusioning (is that a word?) to see we did absolutely NOTHING to address the blatant issues we have with this offense.
This disallusionment (again is that a word) makes me seriously consider how I want the rest of the year to go. Am
Here is a flurry of moves for the Twins in the last few hours.
#1 Trade for Justin Verlander. Yes he has huge dollars attached, and yes he is old, but he is still JV!!! HE would be a great addition just by HIS performance, but the work ethic he can show our young guys and develop that mentality would be a huge boost. WE trade Emmanuel Rodriguez. Yes he is supposedly untouchable, but how many other "can't miss prospects" have actually turned out for the Twins. Scherzer return was "Just"
Todd Walker debuted for the Twins on Aug, 30, 1996 against the Brewers in Milwaukee. He went one for five in his debut. I recently sat down (via Zoom) with the former Twins second baseman. We touched on a lot of topics from his thoughts on the recent MLB Draft being an LSU Alumni, his draft day experience, what it was like to be a major leaguer, he shares a fantastic Kirby Puckett story, and he doesn't mince words on seemingly always being in TK's dog house. That is a comment you don't wanna mis
Author's Note: The game we attended was on July 23, so I apologize for the late report. But our intent wasn't a game report as much as a players scouting report.
My son (Dastard Junior) and I made the one-day trip down-and-back to Cedar Rapids to catch a glimpse of the Twins High-A Kernels. The four-hour drive (one-way) proved to be a small price to pay. As others have mentioned on TD, the ballpark is great, the fans are friendly and the Kernels are well worth watching. Our tickets
Saint Paul, Minnesota - A critical fielding error from Wenceel Perez allowed Alex De Goti to hit a three-run home run, which helped the Saints pull away from the Mud Hens. Toby Gardenhire secured his 200th victory as a Triple-A manager on Sunday afternoon in a 7-2 Saints win over the Toledo Mud Hens in front of 8,212 fans. The Saints won four-of-six games on the homestand and improved to 59-42 on the season.
In the first, Trevor Larnach and Kyle Garlick hit back-to-back home runs, which ga
Saint Paul, Minnesota - If you are coming out to the ballpark on a Saturday night you never know what you may see. Kyle Garlick had a home run overturned and Saints manager Toby Gardenhire was ejected all in the first inning. The Saints would still find a way to get a few runs across in the first, but in the end, it would be the Mud Hens that would get the last laugh in a 7-3 win over the Saints in front of 9,364. The Saints fell to 58-42 on the season.
Anthony Prato and Trevor Larnach bot
Saint Paul, Minnesota - A combination of offense and pitching helped lift the Saints past the Mud Hens 8-2 on Friday night. Dallas Keuchel, Caleb Thielbar, and Oliver Ortega all had strong performances. On the offensive side the Saints put on a show to all 8,540 fans in attendance with four home runs. St. Paul improved to 58-41 on the season.
In the third, with two outs, Nick Solak walked, Justyn-Henry Malloy singled, which allowed Solak to advance to third. On a wild pitch by Dallas Keuch
Saint Paul, Minnesota - Mark Contreras stepped to the plate with two outs in the bottom of the ninth with a chance to win the game. With the winning run on second the Saints were unable to complete a comeback. Contreras flew out to right, which ended the game, and the Saints fell 5-4 to Toledo. The Saints fell to 57-41 on the season.
In the third, Parker Meadows walked and stole second base. Justyn-Henry Malloy singled, which allowed Meadows to score. Toledo took a 1-0 lead.

My apologies for the repetitive posts, but as I was finishing my recent post I realized just how challenged the Twins will be shortly. so many potential answers I am wondering what YOUR moves are?
Of course injuries and such always come nto play to resolve most issues, but.. sometime in teh near future the Twins will have a glut of players. Notice I didnt say a glut of All-Star calibur players, but a glut of players none the less.
OF: There is the usual backlog of Gallo, Kepler, Wall
This trade will help us on the periphery (did I spell/use that word correctly??) LOL.
Willi Castro has shown the importance of speed.
The Angels are now keeping Ohtani and will be buyers (and will need pitching)
The Yankees need an upgrade at 3B!!
What ties these three things together? Well a creative trade of course!!!
YANKEES GET: Anthony Rendon from the Angels
ANGELS GET: Josh Donaldson from the Yankees, Kyle Farmer and a starting pitcher. maybe Dallas Kuchle
Saint Paul, Minnesota - It would be in the seventh inning when the Saints would break the game open on Wednesday afternoon against the Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit Tigers). It would be Kyle Garlick that would hit the go-ahead grand slam for the Saints and Ronny Henriquez would shut the Mud Hens down on the mound, so the Saints take game two by a score of 9-7 in front of 7,511. The Saints improved to 57-40 on the season.
Toledo would come out of the gate swinging. Parker Meadows led off the gam
Per Craig Mish, the Marlins traded RHP Dylan Floro to the Twins in exchange for RHP Jorge Lopez in a straight one for one deal. It's the first move the Twins have made before the trade deadline and it won't be the last.
Floro, 32, was originally drafted by the Rays but is probably more well known for being an arm on the 2020 WS Dodgers team. He was traded to Miami prior to the 2021 season and has been a solid reliver all things considered for the Fish. This year he's had a down year, with
Saint Paul, Minnesota - It was hot and humid at CHS Field on Tuesday night. However, the bats were hot too. The Saints collected fourteen hits in a 14-7 win over the Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit Tigers) in front of 7,109. The Saints improved to 56-40 on the season.
Louie Varland started for St. Paul. Varland worked 3.2 innings allowing six runs (five earned) on nine hits while striking out four. While that is not the most impressive final line, one thing that was impressive was his command of
Luckily we play in the AL Central, but is the Twins window of opportunity to contend slamming shut?
What will this team look like next year? and no I am not looking to next year already!! hehe, I am looking at next year to help determine what moves should be done at the trade deadline THIS year.
our FA after this year...
Joey Gallo (should be released anyways, but no way he is back next year)
Max Kepler (see above)
Michael Taylor.. HE has been a great signing, maybe we
Saint Paul, Minnesota - A tie game going into the ninth inning, but just like Friday night the Saints ran into some trouble in the ninth and would drop the series finale to the Durham Bulls (Tampa Bay Rays) by a score of 5-3. The Saints fell to 53-36 on the season.
With two outs in the first inning the Bulls would be the first to get on the board. Curtis Mead singled followed by a single from Austin Shenton, which Shenton's single allowed Mead to advance to third. Next, Greg Jones reached
If you're like me, you find yourself scrolling baseball reference pages or Wikipedia to see what former Twins players are up to, post playing career. Maybe you're not like me, maybe you actually have a life. Well, I don't, but I do enjoy doing Wikipedia and bREF rabbit holes. Recently, I was talking with a friend on Twitter and he asked me what I thought the worst trade in Twins history was, the ones that came to mind immediately were more recent: Sam Dyson, Mitch Garver, Taylor Rogers, etc. But
Saint Paul, Minnesota - On Friday night the Saints took a two-run lead to the ninth and pitching struggled to close the game; however, on Saturday night the exact opposite happened. The Saints once again took a two-run lead into the ninth, but this time pitching was dominate and the Saints secured a 4-2 win over the Durham Bulls (Tampa Bay Rays) to tie the three-game series at one game apiece. In fact, Saints pitching dominated all evening, which was a major reason for the Saints' success. The S
Saint Paul, Minnesota - When you take a two-run lead into the ninth inning and give up five runs that is one of the more painful ways to lose a game. On Saturday night the Saints will look to rebound and will send LHP Brent Headrick (3-1, 4.05) to the mound.
Brent Headrick was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 2019. He was drafted in the ninth round and was the 269th overall pick. Headrick made his MLB Debut earlier this year on April 19th in Boston. He worked 1.0 inning allowing one run on
Saint Paul, Minnesota - The Durham Bulls (Tampa Bay Rays) made their first ever trip to CHS Field to play the St. Paul Saints on Friday night and 8,643 were on hand to watch. Durham is defending the championship crown from last season, and on Friday night the Bulls demonstrated their ability to fight. Trailing by two in the ninth inning the Bulls plated five runs and took game one of a three-game series 8-5. St. Paul fell to 52-35 on the season.
Durham got on the board first and it started
Friday night, Marek Houston's first homer came in a 6-run 7th inning. His second home run gave his team an 8-2 lead an inning later. He's 3-for-5, 2 HR (5) and a stolen base, his 15th.
Minnesota Twins: Royce Lewis recalled James outman DFA'ed Per Aaron Gleeman. Lewis slashed .303/.443/.900 in his short stint in St Paul. While outman struggled at the plate. Lewis has been open and is expected to play 1st and 2 base in the long term.
