  1. Littel must mean a starter is hurt? Odorizzi? Littel would take Mejia's spot moving Mejia into the rotation? Aww hell Mejia could be hurt what the heck do I know?
  2. Yeah I don't think anyone thought he would flame out in the spring like that they planned on him helping from the start.
  3. Things are very encouraging for me so far. Just seeing three different guys play catcher the first three games and Kepler over Cave in center. There is some flexibility among our players and it is apparent because of not only reputation but usage. Keeping talented guys like Mejia for other roles instead of the usual disappointing suspects. I had a feeling this year would be fun and so far!
  4. Maybe he should talk to Kepler or at least pay attention to him. Kepler had a very good sense of where the wall is
  5. Most years lately Mejia would make the rotation. His place speaks to the talent level of the staff. For all the worry over the pen I was excited to see what he could do from this slot and I have to say it is a luxury to have that kind of talent there. These games where the starter gets knocked out early are lost games and when you start stealing them we are on to something.
  6. On a bad night they still got four in regulation. It's frustrating when they put themselves in position for more but the lineup shores put pressure on the other team.
  7. When in the past would we have seen 3 catchers play in the first three games? Never. I don't care where they batted Astudillo I'm just happy he was in there. This is not the robotic heard marching off a cliff giving the feeling of futility. This sh** is fresh!
  8. This is new territory for us. I know some of it is because the schedule is so odd but to me they are taking advantage of it. In the past I think they would've sent out Reed regardless of the games that were lost. I like to see every game treated as important. This would be the first time I can remember agreeing with all these decisions. With the fact that starters usually take awhile to ramp up the innings this is bold and it will be fun to watch how they mange the bench and the pen
  9. How many did I have last night? Ah doesn't matter!
  10. https://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/sprockets/n10975
  11. This makes me think of Presley going to Houston and getting some instruction that led to immediate results. You know if we can catch up to those bastards in player instruction we have to be more desirable than that crappy town and that crappy indoor stadium.
  12. ride em hard and put em away wet!!! No wait that's gross
  13. I'm with Thrylos, the young lady on the right is definitely trying too hard. The hairdo and what is that on her shirt? A bowl of soup? I'd be as mad as that bowl of soup looks if I had to listen to those two.
  14. I read the article and the faulty device mentioned isn't even a radar gun. When they do mention a radar gun failing it's because more than one vehicle are close together moving at different speeds. So I guess your right as long as the pitcher throws two balls.
  15. The magnificent LEN111 is reporting that Gonsalves was back to 88-91 in his latest outing. Maybe that gun is just fine after all. I've always been sceptical when people talk inaccurate radar guns. This is very mature technology. Anybody try using that argument on the side of a road with a cop? Ironic the one guy they plunk down on for multiple years can't give them one. What I want to see is them make the call on Reed without costing the team wins. We need to operate like every game is crucial.
  16. At this level the difference between the middle and the top teams is minuscule. This FO doesn't miss these little details. I find I'm learning more about MLB mechanization following these two. It is a refreshing ride.
  17. Update: Now we're talking! More creativity from this front office. That 700k would just about cover 5 Brusdar Graterols! That money is more appealing than the prospect imo.
  18. Yes but I also don't understand why Kepler wouldn't be far down any list for first base. The man needs to be roaming the nether regions, as chilly would say he is a kick ass center fielder. Seriously he not only is in the top few at right field but not many guys are better at center. The guy is smooth out there and always knows right where the wall is. Which might be why he is always available. Not to mention that so far his bat hasn't played at first.
  19. Maybe they should study some film of when the games were half as long and implement rules to steer players behavior in the desired direction. A pitch clock could be part of it and also a delay of game warning followed by a penalty. The three biggest problems are TV, players idiosyncratic behavior and pitching changes. TV has made the prices skyrocket to the point where the last time this family of four went to a game we dropped $300. Ridiculous. If baseball does retract financially maybe that's not such a bad thing. The salaries, prices and profits are absurd. BTW I just made plans to catch a couple of Blue Wahoo games: $6 beers I checked.
