  1. I had Mar-got that Margot had led off so many times during last season. Not as bat s- crazy as continually running him out there to pinch hit.... but close...
  2. Well done Cody.... this was my favorite TD article in a long while!
  3. Is it possible that with all the bullpen depth that the Twins intend to keep Varland stretched out as a SP option this year?
  4. I think the issue is that they could not make impactful moves in other areas of need for 5 million but they could in the area of LH RP
  5. Totally OK with ending the Tonkin experiment now. We all know how it will play out otherwise... spoiler alert... it won't be pretty
  6. Tonkin estimated WAR of 0.1 is wildly optimistic... he'll be a negative WAR and not even make it through the season. Brock will be a 1.0 or effectively a 0 based on health. Alcala could surprise us with the breakout season some of us feel is his capable of.
  7. Keirsey is an easy decision for 4th outfield rolling into a season with zero budget flexibility and absentee ownership.
  8. If Brock Stewart says healthy for a year... this bullpen could be elite... Peak Brock is a game changer.
  9. The Dodgers at 353 million!!!!! MLB is not going to be healthy until there is harder salary cap with increased revenue sharing. Look at the NFL. The equal playing field in many ways has contributed to their overwhelming popularity and overall growth
  10. Brock Stewart staying healthy is the biggest wildcard. If he is healthy for the full year.... this bullpen could get very dangerous.
  11. I'm far more worried about the state of his feet going forward than the state of his mind
  12. Cody... you entered the spin zone and got spun... Actual Translation: 1. Nobody is interested in taking on Vazquez's 10 mil or Paddack's 7mil and we need Castro be be a competent MLB team... so we will spin that as 'We are not going to have as significant of a budget cut as we said!' 2. Now that all of the decent free agents are off the board (ie nobody left to sign), we are free to say that we are much more open concerning the budget to look good with no attractive option to do so!
  13. For if a WS appearance hypothetical.... Buxton needs to be on this list (a near best season of his career would be required)
  14. We don't need trends... we need statistical significance on this analysis!!!!!
  15. "the Twins are on the hook with these two injury-prone players in their 30s, who will probably have to move off SS/CF soon, for almost $200 million through 2028." (wincing) yes....yes we are.... and I can hear the hubcaps coming off both of them already from all the way over here on the East coast
  16. You don't keep Tonkin on the roster because you are afraid of 'losing him.' Varland should begin in the MLB bullpen and no one should ever utter the words 'afraid of losing Tonkin' again.
  17. Raya = Bullpen Correa = too much cost for self-determined financially strapped team to form a balanced team. Feet will get worse not better with age. Great guy but trade him if possible.
