  1. Actually, Lopez and Ober together give us the chance..... if we make it..... and that 'if' seems to getting bigger by the day ...
  2. Nothing screams contender like Henriquez and Tonkin in high leverage situations. We definitely got the bullpen we paid for though....
  3. I believe this is a sign that we are solidly in the 'bargaining phase' of grief for this season
  4. I TOLD EVERYONE THAT VARLAND NEEDED TO BE IN THE BULLP.... uh... wait...what (listening to earpiece).... er...um (checking box scores)..... ah....bullpen?
  5. Quality leadership matters... and we don't got it...
  6. (Narrator voice) Rocco had nothing to do with Lopez pitching lights out but deserves a golf clap for actually allowing him to pitch 7 innings and avoiding self-inflicted wounds from bad bullpen decisions.
  7. I'll provide an optimistic take for these Twins. If....a BIG IF.... they make the playoffs, Lopez and Ober will be a formidable #1 and #2 starter which can be a HUGE advantage in the playoffs (see Viola and Blyleven in 1987). But...alas... we still have to make it....
  8. Agreed... which is why the Twins need a new manager with better decision making and better leadership skills whether the FO stays or not. I actually think the FO has done a good job drafting but not so much with free agents. They have more control over drafting and development because FA is impacted by ownership budget. Keep the FO and dump Rocco.
  9. The likely end of the Sabato era.... what was your favorite memory?!
  10. I'm not a gambler but I would be supremely confident to bet on this.... And if managing really doesn't matter because he just is a FO straw man... why have a manager at all?
  11. 'I definitely wanted to see more here but maybe it comes tomorrow, maybe it comes the next day.' Or maybe next week or month.... hell, perhaps 2025 or 2026... ya know... whatever... whenever it comes it will be great! Oh and 'it' is hard to define, but you know it when you see it and I'll let you know when 'it' arrives.... Rocco is not a visionary leader of men but could be a visionary philosopher!
  12. I've said it for at least 3 years. Rocco is not a leader of men. He belongs in the FO here or elsewhere. He appears to be intelligent and thoughtful but he is not well suited to be a manager. He will never manage another team when he is eventually fired from this one. That tells you all you need to know.
  13. It's been the right move for months but congrats to the FO .... or something
  14. probably something to do with him playing hurt
  15. Still waiting for Varland to be permanently moved to the bullpen. Ridiculous that the Twins have yet to accept that he is a RP (who could be good at it....maybe even covering 2 innings sometimes) Anyhoo....they'll accept it eventually.... hopefully sooner than multiple mass-blowouts-after-2-innings-or-one-time-through-the-order later
