  1. In summary.... the post season has been a Yaaaaaaawwwwwwwn..... and short of a massive salary dumping trade will remain a Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwn......
  2. Hello pig...... hold still while I apply lipstick! (no championship serious team is making rule of V selections to 'stash' for a season)
  3. This...this....aaaaaaaaaaaaand.......THIS!
  4. Kudos to TD for their tireless efforts to make it seem like anything of real consequence is going to happen this offseason! (narrator voice) it will not...
  5. This.... this...aaaaaaaaaand.... THIS! Also, with the budget constraints this year... it is such an easy decision to roll with Keirsey as the CF back up/4-5 outfielder....
  6. Another reminder to not clutch too tightly to your prospects..... Soooo many on the top 10 lists do not make it.... Strategic trading of prospects for established talent!
  7. But.... there is a wide confidence interval around the anticipated performance for most of the projected starters (based on injury or performance history)
  8. I'm cool with the salary dump.... His chronic foot problems are a huge concern, especially as he ages. The Twins to not have the budget to absorb the 30+ million albatross during the last 2 years of the contract. Not great in the short term.... but that is the reality
  9. ....also.... maximizing core strength (especially abs) is crucial to offloading strain on the back
  10. I worry that swinging for the fences (ie attempts to maximize high exit velocity and launch angle) may be putting more strain on the (lower) back similar to the concern that sliders and focus on high spin rate may put more strain on the elbow
  11. I'm a huge Dobnak fan! By all accounts, he is a great guy and teammate! I'm glad he got paid... and no, his salary is not holding the Twins back compared to MANY other issues. But, I do have eyes wide open that he is unlikely to contribute to any playoff caliber Twins team.
  12. The Twins have many challenges ahead of them, but paying Castro 6.2 mil should absolutely NOT be one of them.
  13. I think you missed the memo that the Twins will not be increasing payroll this year. With lots-o-current-players that will cost more....zero chance for big outside signings.
  14. Actually it is the opposite.... they decided to sell at least a year ago if not longer when they started to slash cost in preparation for the sale....business 101...
  15. Yeah, but they have to live in Florida.... a punishment far worse than taxes
  16. Just when I thought I was out (until Rocco gone)... they sucked me back in (with Pohlads gone?!)....
  17. With the understanding that neither the Twins nor TD need me in the least bit.... I'll always be a Twins fan, but I'm taking a hiatus until Rocco is unceremoniously fired one day. Good luck to all and see you on the flip side!
