  1. I can only conclude that this a precursor to some other moves that will restructure the roster that puts Gallo as the starting right fielder, otherwise it seems a waste of resources ($$). I'm not a Joey Gallo fan (his name reminds me of the Joe Pesci character in "My Cousin Vinny") because I'm not a great fan of three true outcomes baseball . . . BORING! I'm not sure where Falvey is going with all this but more and more I miss the Gardenhire gang and fundamentally sound baseball. Vive las Piranhas!
  2. Oh yeah. Dodger fans already don't like CC, and now that he is part of the hated Giants clan just made it more fun to go to Dodger Stadium for giants games.
  3. I don't know, but the A's got a bunch of pitching prospects on top of outfielder Ruiz that in a few years could make it look like they fleeced them.
  4. Interesting headline at MLB Trade Rumors before the trade announcement, "Christian Vázquez Reportedly Progressing Towards Deal With Unknown Team." They've never heard of the Twins? ?
  5. You see other teams figure out where they need to add players and go out and do it. What are the Twins doing?
  6. Helicoptor money. For most of us it's a fragile economy with severe headwinds and some nasty looking storm clouds ahead, but wow, free agents are sure raking in the cash this off season. The question was, "What’s Next to do in Free Agency for the Twins After the Winter Meetings?" Pretty much the same thing as before the meetings started. We've gotten nowhere and probably are further behind as options are taken off the board.
  7. 35 year old closer Kenley Jansen signs with Red Sox; 2 year $32 mil contract. Thats a lotta green for 60-70 innings per year.
  8. Nice job. Lets hope Twins coaching is already digesting all this and plotting a course for pitching dominance next year.
  9. I've seen bigger crowds at a Lake Harriet pedestrian accident. Thanks for the report and the pics.
  10. Looking at the supplied picture, you guys really do look like a couple of donkeys. ?
  11. So, fix the ass angle, knee extension and make straight the hips, then its balaz to the walaz.
  12. Astros read your article and grabbed him.
  13. Abreau will be 36 years old when the season starts. If he was the final piece of putting a contender on the field this next year, could be a good move to sign him. But that's not the situation the Twins are in and I think resources are better spent on a shortstop, catcher, righty hitting corner outfielder that can also field and of course pitching.
  14. And he has a major league era of 0.00. The man can do it all.
  15. A most assuredly possible maybe, but it looks like MR. Renfroe is to remain with the Sudsmen.
  16. Possible that Renfroe might be non-tendered by the Brew Crew?
  17. I think we have enough "defensively challenged" hitters to fill the DH role, but improving offensively against port-siders should be a priority. I miss the days when Kirby Puckett was a one-man wrecking crew against lefties.
  18. Will any team sign him to a major league contract? If its a performance based-laden minimum commitment deal, why couldn't it be with the Twins? If he can re-find some plate discipline he could be a good complementary RH power bat for DH-1B-3B, but then again he actually has a higher OPS vs Righties so maybe not. Projections for 2023 aren't kind.
  19. I can't believe we used 38 pitchers. That's an insane number of arms to be plied at the major league level. The 1970 Baltimore Orioles won the world series and used a total of 12 pitchers all year. The 1974 Oakland A's won the world series using 11 pitchers all year. Maybe part of the decline of the popularity of baseball is the use of so many players and loss of personal identity in a baseball game. Also, according to FanGraphs relief pitchers accounted for only about 9-10% of the value (in wins above replacement) that all position players and pitchers created last year. And yet, they occupy about 25 percent of roster slots. Relief pitchers are eating baseball alive, lol.
  20. God bless you Sir for helping a fellow in need.
