  1. It's only March 9th though. Usually it's only the 'no shot in hell' guys that get re-assigned this early. Looks like in 2022 Martin held on until March a 29th re-assignment and in 2023 he was sent packing early but it was early but due to him being injured. They waited on Brooks Lee until March 22nd of 2024. I guess they're extra cautious about starting the clock on these guys due to injury. Which is weird because nobody expects any owner or front office employees to be around when these guys are ready to hit arbitration.
  2. If the 'top three' options all need to be platooned, none of them should be a top three option.
  3. Rodriguez AND Gonzalez? So I guess they're not doing that bit where they pretend young players actually have a chance to earn a roster spot.
  4. Murray and Smith do seem like the best options to prevent JJ from turning into a Bryce Young so I'm down. I'd guess the Vikings don't spend money on Shaheed since Myles Price is cheap and looked promising last year as a return guy.
  5. I don't think Willis is a good enough passer though. He throws a good deep ball but that's about it. He's never thrown more than 23 passes in a game and when he would come in to replace Love, they cut the passing options in playbook down significantly.
  6. Reports were that Kyler Murray is hoping to land in MN. Of course depending on perspective, he too may be a tier 3 guy, But if he is, then I'd say outside of Daniel Jones, every free agent QB is. And I'm far from sold on Jones.
  7. So lots of free agent activity but nothing for our squad. I'd guess the Vikings can't do anything until they know how much they have to pay a QB, and I'm guessing most of the free agent QBs want to wait to see what the Vikings will do since seen as a favorable landing spot.
  8. I wonder if they'll ever throw the ball next year.
  9. Alec Pierce re-signing with the Colts. That surprises me. For some reason Pierce gained a ton of hype this offseason. Yeah, he was a fun player, but a 1003 yard season doesn't seem nearly as special to me as it does the free agent rankers. He only had 47 catches, which means he was basically a 'chuck it deep' WR. Which, sure those guys are exciting, but they're too one dimensional to be a top level WR. It's basically Marquez Valdez Scantling. I'd guess last year was his peak.
  10. Right, Wilson mostly got paid, because he made Pace look so, so bad by comparison.
  11. Pedro Florimon managed to be an opening day starter.......two years in a row!
  12. Agree that Rodriguez has the best shot at the award, but I don't think most ROY winners make the opening day rosters.
  13. I don't think he wins ROY, but if he needs another year in AAA, he's not going to be a top 20 prospect next year. He probably falls out of the top 50.
  14. Eric Wilson is re-signed. 3 year 22M with 12.5M guaranteed. Ideally I'd like this team to find their next Chad Greenway who can anchor the defense for the next decade, but Wilson was so good last year.
  15. Maxx Crosby to the Ravens, best news I heard all day! Keep him out of the NFC North. Odd fit with the Ravens though, they still run a 3-4 base.
  16. I only keep Hockenson if they sign Murray. He clearly likes a TE, likely because those guys are tall enough for him to see without getting on a step stool. Realizing I better clarify that that was both serious and a joke at the same time.
  17. Yeah, both Allen and Hargrave felt like Flores choices. All of the defensive players that signed the past two years seem like they were Flores choices actually. I'm fine keeping it that way, despite the Allen and Hargrave misses.
  18. They traded away the entire bullpen, fired the manager and the team president quit a month before camp opened. Oh, and they got new owners that slashed payroll. It's fine. The team wasn't competitive anyway, but they cannot put on an act like they are contending this year at the expense of identifying a competitive roster in 2027.
  19. Everything has already gone wrong. 2026 needs to be about identifying the next long term core players. Im far from sold on Abel, but this team needs to be more aggressive with high upside players and then more decisive when it becomes more clear they won’t cut it.
  20. My problem with Bradley is that the Twins, and many fans, seem intent on restarting his evaluation as a starter back to zero. Three seasons of overall poor starts is already more than most pitchers get. If TB hadn’t traded him, he would be in their pen right now this spring.
  21. Agreed. For me, (and I don’t begrudge anyone who feels differently) this club should be thinking about which of these guys could develop into players who could anchor a playoff series win in 2027 or 2028. There’s a place for SWR on just about any MLB roster, but if you’re going into the postseason, he’s the kind of starter you debate if you leave him off the playoff roster or put him in the pen. If you don’t want to drag out a return to glory, the clock is ticking on finding the high upside guys needed to get there.
  22. I mean, Vance Worley has been out of baseball for a decade. Banimal46 has a nice ring to it......
  23. I love this feature of the site! Well done posters, and great idea to provide this recognition Brock!
  24. Joe Ryan should be the only rotation lock. Ober can't be given a job solely based on seniority if he can't hit 92 MPH any longer. Currently he can't even hit 90 MPH. I'd say the same for SWR with his wild velocity swings and tendency to have early exits. At this point, Abel should probably be pitching game 2.
  25. Next Monday the legal tampering period starts so we'll start finding out what free agents are headed where. In the meantime, I came across this quote and thought it too precious not to share; “You don’t take a job if you’re not excited about quarterbacks that are in the building” - New Browns offensive coordinator Travis Switzer https://www.cleveland.com/browns/2026/03/offensive-coordinator-travis-switzer-wont-tip-browns-qb-plans-quick-hits.html
