  1. Indeed we all do have a lot to be thankful for including the aforentioned Twins Daily.
  2. What a fun list. I enjoy seeing some names I haven't thought about in quite a while like Disco Dan Ford.
  3. A very good read that presents some very intriguing perspectives. I'm an Eddie Rosario fan, always have been, I would like to see the Twins sign him to a 1 year deal. He's on the field so much more than any other Twins outfielder and he has been consistently productive. I too have patches of hair that I've pulled out in frustration over his base-running miscues and errant throws when he missed the cutoff. Overall, I like his passion for the game and the way he produces.
  4. It looks pretty good, I think Jake Cave starting in LF is a huge drop from Rosario, whose has led the Twins in RBI the past 2 seasons. I pony up for Rosario for one more year, keep Cave as a fourth OF.
  5. Outstanding piece. Well played. Little Miss Muffet would approve of your Muppet.
  6. I've always liked Jake Reed and felt he deserved a look with the big club a couple of years ago.
  7. Eddie has been in the line-up more consistently than any other outfielder the Twins have had over the past 5-6 years. He's my favorite Twin (has been since his Beloit days) and while he does have moments that drive you crazy with lapses of brain flatulence, I love his bat, throwing arm, and enthusiasm in Minnesota's line-up.
  8. Awesome story, what a great read. Read some Twins names I haven't heard in awhile. Bombo.
  9. RandBalls Stu, IMO one of the best and gutsy pieces I've ever read on Twins Daily. I fully support the decision by the Twins and Tigers not to play and hopefully it got a few heads that were buried in the sand to come up and take a look at what's really going on in our world.
  10. Excellent read, may all your dreams come true, especially #19.
  11. Most enjoyab le thing i've read in quite awhile. Thank you and please can we "Play ball" sometime soon?
  12. "What Griffith said was inappropriate. But it was something that someone born more than a century ago said more than 4 decades ago. It has no bearing on what is happening today." I wholeheartedly disagree that the mindset and mentality of Calvin Griffith 4 decades ago has no bearing on what is going on today. That mindset and mentality among white America is still alive and well (and I say that being a white male.) That same line of thinking has been passed on to the next generation for decades/centuries, and still exists today and is deeply rooted in the curent problems our soceity is facing. It's time to put out the torch once and for all, instead of allowing it to be passed on.
  13. To make the Trout pick by the Angels even more amazing IMO, is they drafted another outfielder right before Mike Trout, Randal Grichuk, who has also shown he can hit the long ball.
  14. A happy medium between what the owners and players have proposed and counter-proposed would be an 80-ish game season. I'm a diehard baseball fan and I will survive, even if there is not a season this year. The fans IMO that MLB has the greatest risk of losing are those fringe fans, who will look for and find another outlet for their sports needs, if one is provided. Let's get together play ball!
  15. Bombo Rivera Rich Chiles John Candelaria Terry Felton Ron Jackson Pete (Where the) Redfern (Grows) Bob Gorinski
  16. I created a custom Minnesota Twins hat with instant Joe Mauer sideburns fattache don the sides for Halloween one day, and sent a picture to the Minnesota Twins and pitched it as a possible SGA. That was a few years ago, nothing yet.
  17. Jeter is a good choice, and I like how you explained how overrated he was. My choice for most despised (hated is too strong of a word for me), would be A-Rod because of his arrogance and steroid use and general *a**holeness. Boo A.J.? No Way! I would cheer for A.J. when he would bat for visiting teams playing the Twins, and thank him for the haul of players we received from San Francisco for him.
  18. My brother and I were at the game at Target Field where Park blasted a homerun in The Catch above the batter's eye. That's Jim Thome territory folks. Just couldn't seem to shake off some injuries though. I was very excited to meet him at TwinsFest his first year.
  19. What a fun list to follow, thanks for your work in putting this together. Very enjoyable.
  20. I go a lump in my throat just reading the words Goodbye Eddie? I've been a huge fan of Eddie all the way back to his days with the Beloit Snappers. I first read about him when he narrowly edged out highly touted Miguel Sano for the team HR title in Elizabethton. The outfield depth in the Twins minor league system may eventually leave Rosario the odd man out, but deep down I certainly hope Eddie is around for a number of years in a Minnesota Twins uniform. I love his enthusiasm for the game, his aggressive style (which can be maddening at times-I get it.) With Buxton's history of injuries, who knows what the future holds doe Eddie?
  21. Great list, this would be my #5 though. The 87' Twins don't win it without The Terminator. Prior to the start of the 1987 season, Reardon was traded from the Montreal Expos to the Minnesota Twins along with catcher Tom Nieto—for pitchers Neal Heaton, Yorkis Pérez, and Alfredo Cardwood and catcher Jeff Reed.
  22. While the prospect of no baseball does not appeal to me, the logistics involved to get it going may not happen in a timely manner. I agree with players having the option to opt out if they wish (I hadn't really thought that much about it before.) This is a decision that about more than baseball and economics; lives are at stake. As a fan, that's where it begins and ends with me. Even if playing in front of empty stadiums, for me the safety of players, fans, and workers rises above having something to talk about online or at the water cooler.
  23. I remember Scott Diamond had a very cool autograph.
  24. Great list, I had forgotten than Rosario and Buxton his their walk offs back-to-back.
