  1. I have just one question..can he pitch? The starting line-up looks impressive, but unless some reliable, proven, competent starting pitching is on the mound, gonna come up on the short end of a lot of 8 - 4, 7 - 3, 10 - 5 games. I like the aggressiveness (no more cheapstake talk), now we just need another starting arm or two.
  2. One of the big reasons I like baseball is because it is NOT driven by a clock. I love baseball because it's not like football, basketball, and hockey. I like not being rushed through a game.
  3. Interesting story, I love learning more about the history of the world's greatest game.
  4. At the last TwinsFest, I was walking through the Twins lockerroom, which had been broken down into segments, each featuring a different decade of Minnesota Twins baseball (a brilliant idea from Clyde Deopner no doubt.) I was talked about the Soul Patrol as we came around the corner to the decade of the 2000s, when we heard a voice say, "It was Matt Lawton who came up with the idea for the Soul Patrol." We turned around and there was Jacque Jones sitting on the couch in the period room. He stood up and came over and talked to us about how it was Matt Lawton who came up with the idea and how he was part of first Soul Patrol, with Shannon Stewart part of Soul Patrol 2.0. He shared stories with us for about another 5 minutes before a nother crowd of people behind us froced us to move on. What a treat that day!
  5. Refreshing to hear some news from spring training, even if it is not MLB players. Hopefully that will change very shortly, until then let's hear about these kids and prospects.
  6. I have never seen a player coming off of a 30 homerun season get ripped so much. Only 43 players in MLB hit 30 or more homeruns in 2021, and Sano was one of two to do it for the Twins (Jorge Polonco the other.) I hear the gripe that his 30 homeruns resulted in only 75 RBI. Well, a player can't get on base and then drive themselves in with a homerun, it takes baserunners to do that. RBI is more a reflection of where a players is batting in the line-up, and who is getting on base in front of them. And oh' Sano strikes out wayyy too much complaint...he always has, and everyone strikesout too much. Miguel was one of 5 players on the Twins with over 100 strikeouts. Sano certainly has his faults, and hopefully his batting average will climb up to the .250 - .260 mark to go along with his dingers, I can live with that. I think the Minnesota Twins can too.
  7. It's hard NOT to cheer for Royce Lewis. He blew me away when I met him in Cedar Rapids with how genuine he is, such a hard worker, wish him all the best of luck this year and beyond.
  8. Very clever, thanks for the chuckle.
  9. I think Alex Kirilloff can become the Minnesota Twins version of "Kirill the Thrill." I look for a breakout season from Alex at the plate.
  10. The video is so awesome, I think it's so special for these guys to be able to get together play.
  11. Pitcher Willie Banks is a BIG one for me along with 1B David McCarty. Banks was suppose to be a sure thing and McCarty the heir apparent to Kent Hrbek.
  12. With so many question marks regarding Minnesota's starting rotation, I think it would be prudent for the Twins to keep all options (including Jax as an opener) on the table.
  13. A very good read, however, Gilberto Celestino on the list of assets, but not Miguel Sano? I view Celestino as a fringe 4th MLB outfielder at best. Kepler at #9 seems a bit high, especially coming off of back-to-back disappointing seasons. Kepler has the advantage defensively, but Sano bested Kepler in R, 2B, HR, RBI, and BA last season. IMO Sano should be on the list.
  14. Such a wonderful read and a delightful stroll down memory lane.
  15. Hopefully the baseball off season will change from a "Silent Night" to Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" soon. Merry Christmas TD!
  16. Thank you Twins Daily staff, you are definitely on the Nice List too. My first source every morning for the latest news on my favorite team. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you TD!
  17. Enjoying the list, bringing back some great memories. Thank you.
  18. I am thankful for my favorite local team, the Minnesota Twins, who like family I may not always agree with, but still love dearly. I am thankful for Twins Daily and staff, for the best coverage of my favorite team, and the first place I go to read about them every morning.
  19. Oh i love this on sooooooo many levels. Sign him Twins!
  20. If not for blowing out his knee, Tony Oliva's total career numbers would be even more impressive. Tony O for the HOF!
  21. Growing up in SD, it was always reassuring knowing we were going to be able to watch a game when The Dome was around, no rain outs. For TwinsFest, I loved the way so many dealers were spread out on the floor of The Dome. Great memories, that being said, I love Target Field as well.
  22. We've seen this before from Eddie Rosario, a hot streak where he can carry a team for a week or two. Doesn't matter whether the pitch is a strike or not, he's zoned in. I miss Eddie and I'm happy for him and the Braves.
