    I believe the Twins need to get Hill in the starting rotation ASAP. You don't save something for tomorrow, when there's no guarantee tomorrow's going to come.

    Jeter is a good choice, and I like how you explained how overrated he was. My choice for most despised (hated is too strong of a word for me), would be A-Rod because of his arrogance and steroid use and general *a**holeness. Boo A.J.? No Way! I would cheer for A.J. when he would bat for visiting teams playing the Twins, and thank him for the haul of players we received from San Francisco for him.

    Both the US and South Korea reported their first cases at the about the same time. South Korea response to COVID19 was swift and concise. They were much better prepared for it and responded quickly with widespread testing. That's why they are where they are at with professional baseball. Hopefully the US won't be too far behind. Until then, it'll be KBO and other sources for the world's greatest sport.

    My brother and I were at the game at Target Field where Park blasted a homerun in The Catch above the batter's eye. That's Jim Thome territory folks. Just couldn't seem to shake off some injuries though. I was very excited to meet him at TwinsFest his first year.

    I go a lump in my throat just reading the words Goodbye Eddie? I've been a huge fan of Eddie all the way back to his days with the Beloit Snappers. I first read about him when he narrowly edged out highly touted Miguel Sano for the team HR title in Elizabethton. The outfield depth in the Twins minor league system may eventually leave Rosario the odd man out, but deep down I certainly hope Eddie is around for a number of years in a Minnesota Twins uniform. I love his enthusiasm for the game, his aggressive style (which can be maddening at times-I get it.) With Buxton's history of injuries, who knows what the future holds doe Eddie?

    Great list, this would be my #5 though. The 87' Twins don't win it without The Terminator. Prior to the start of the 1987 season, Reardon was traded from the Montreal Expos to the Minnesota Twins along with catcher Tom Nieto—for pitchers Neal Heaton, Yorkis Pérez, and Alfredo Cardwood and catcher Jeff Reed.

    While the prospect of no baseball does not appeal to me, the logistics involved to get it going may not happen in a timely manner. I agree with players having the option to opt out if they wish (I hadn't really thought that much about it before.) This is a decision that about more than baseball and economics; lives are at stake. As a fan, that's where it begins and ends with me. Even if playing in front of empty stadiums, for me the safety of players, fans, and workers rises above having something to talk about online or at the water cooler.

    My all-time favorite is "For the Love of the Game" by Michael Schaara. I did not care for the movie by the same name, but the book is so so SO much better. Schaara also wrote "Killer Angels" which the movie "Gettysburg" is based on. TD contributor Daniel Venn wrote "Beyond Baseball Rounding First" which is a story of perseverence, helping others, and life's curveballs. "The 34-Ton Bat" by Steve Rushin I enjoyed and I just received "The Bill James Handbook" for Christmas, so I'm set for awhile. Thanks for the eariler suggestions.

    Great post and I've enjoyed reading everyone'scomments. I'm a 3rd grade teacher in Red Wing, MN, so we're going about our every day business with a more vigilant effort toward washing our hands, cleaning classroom syrfaces more frequently, and trying to keep a steady reaction to all the changes going on around us. I plan on rewatching the 87 and 91 World Series games, if I end up having some time off (our district does not currently have online capabilities at the elementary level), and possibly doing some rearranging in my sports room. Stay healthy everyone and wash, wash, wash your hands.

    My Uncle Don always told us he would never feed those round bales to his cattle. He preferred that his livestock have a square meal. That being said, it's exciting to have the boys back, and hard not to be optomistic.

    Great read. I think PECOTA was a little tough on Byron with their .230 slash line, but I hope Buxton will prove them wrong and inprove on last year's numbers.

    The most extensive prediction segment I have ever seen on the Super Bowl, Love the sotiries and bios that went along with the predicitons. Would like to see the Chiefs win 28-21.

    At the winter caravan stop in Red Wing at Treasure Island, Bert communication clearly that his redeuced TV schedule was not his idea. I enjoy Bert and Dick, but also enjoy seeing a different face from time to time.

    I am one of Eddie's biggest supporters and I hope he takes some steps forward and improves defensively this year. Right now the Minnesota Twins have no one to replace his 30+ HRs and 100+ RBI in the minor leagues, so I don't think he's going anywhere for 2020. Beyond that, we'll have to see how much Larnach, Rooker, and Kirilloff are able to force the issue with their improved play.

    In the story, David Ortiz ia described as a non-athlete, which is exactly how I would describe how painful it is to watch most pitchers "try" to bat.

    Nice...love love LOVE the Conan the Barbarian movie reference. Wheeler would have been a terrific addition, but geography became as much of a factor as the $18 million more the Phillies offered Falvey and Levine have had more hits than swings and misses acquring players and I'm exercising some patience to see how it all unfolds before I hit the panic button.
