  1. Get a screen shot and PM Brock with it or post it here. In the meantime, refresh the screen and it goes away; at least in my experience that's what's happened.
  2. The narrator of the Guzman commercial makes that one hilarious with his bionic man noise.
  3. It’s been linked here recently, but the Thome/Paul Bunyan and Babe Twins Territory commercial.
  4. I think your intern has difficulties with high pressure situations. Next time try a food truck that only specializes in one thing.
  5. Where I work our service weeks are Monday - Sunday. So I go with that. Also, there’s this: ‘On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work.’ Everyone knows the 7th day, the day of rest, is Sunday, ergo the end of the week.
  6. I said that and now my patience is wearing thin and I think we should just sign Lynn and go home. <shrug> At this point for me, it’s not the guaranteed money and/or years I’m concerned with, but my patience and sanity!
  7. So, we hire Darvish and he's our front-end this year, maybe next ... while Berrios and Romero are moving up. And maybe even the third year we'll have 3 that are 1-2 as Darvish starts his decline and the others are reaching their peak. The thing is, Berrios and Romero becoming front-enders isn't a guarantee. We hope they will be the front-end guys, but that won't be this season or quite possibly not next, either. Meanwhile, the clock is ticking on Sano, Buxton, Rosario ... and the rest of our core. Putting off for tomorrow is, imo, not productive for today.
  8. I'll just be glad when this is done. I mean ... could we have had any more 'roller coastering' Darvish threads and discussions this off season? Heh ... it's worse than the 'Dozier to the Dodgers - book it!' threads from last year. Let's get on with it!
  9. I had to unlike the original in order to like it again ... thanks, Nick.
  10. I don’t think he’s using Twitter to up offers. I think he uses Twitter to troll people because that’s what Twitter is a lot of the time. And I think he enjoys it because of the responses he gets and because he knows that people bring these things back to message boards like this and try to find the hidden meaning when there is none. He stated from the beginning he’s in no hurry and wants to enjoy this process because it’s the last big FA he’ll have. And when his agent gets the offer they want from the team they want he’ll sign. And I still don’t think he’ll sign with the Twins even though I am still kind of hoping he will.
  11. I'm fine with him going back to Texas if the Twins don't sign him. I'd rather that than Yankees, Cubs or Dodgers.
  12. I might still go see it as Daniel Day Lewis has said this was his last movie. Side story, when the CSO made the soundtrack for Lincoln, both Spielberg and Daniel Day Lewis were there during recording. Was pretty cool.
  13. That's what I have basically said from the beginning ... look at EVERYTHING and adjust accordingly. The proposal are just so ... well, seem so one-sided to me.
  14. But how many pitchers are truly that slow? I don't think that that is a rampant problem, maybe in just a few instances ... so we make everyone play a certain way because of the small handful out there? I'm more annoyed with the time between half innings and innings to make way for ads and other folly ... and that is an issue whether I'm at home or in person. Edit: that list you posted wasn't about slow pitchers, specifically ... there were a couple in there noted for their slow delivery, but otherwise it was a list of 'painful to watch' for a host of other reasons.
  15. I'm in agreement with you there. If the pace of game is a problem, then look at EVERYTHING. The pace of play isn't just from a player standpoint and if I were a player, I'd have a problem with some of these rule changes for that reason.
  16. This is part of my problem. I don't mind some adjustment, but looking for all of it to come from the play of game itself instead of some of the external causes just seems to be, well, self-serving on the part of ownership. Sorry, but ads are out of control, as is all the extra folly. Lessening the actual play time and not the other stuff just doesn't sit well with me.
  17. Which pitchers don’t try anymore? I always thought that Twins pitchers did a pretty good job of that, better than most, especially Gibson. He’s a pretty good fielding pitcher. But yeah, Kaat was great at that.
  18. I drew the line for myself after a poster suggested he posted the photo for leverage. Other than that, in the absence of anything concrete ... and, actually, in absence of even a whisper from Yu himself ... all we are left with is to speculate based on photos posted on instagram. I'm just offering a counter to the interest. I saw the tweet myself and wondered ... as I said ... in the absence of anything concrete ... Leaving us up to our own devices ... is that a good thing?
  19. I think some of you are reading too much into a photo he posted on instagram of him and friends gathered for an evening.
