  1. Still, does it matter whether or not they truly believe it? Even if true, that he's better than any of us project and they see something no one else does, he's still behind Lewis, Gordon and Javier in our system. I think it was a good 1 for 1 trade. We got a better pitcher than what we've slotted into our 4-5 positions last year and they got a prospect they value. Win - win. Yes, he's not the front-end starter the team needs, imo, but he will slot in better than some of the 4-5s we put out there last year. So while it's not addressing what I would say it our top need, it does address a need, imo. It will strengthen the starting rotation, albeit not the levels we ultimately will need.
  2. I'm not sure how that one works ... it's not a guaranteed contract, so maybe he doesn't take a roster spot until he makes the team? Someone else will have to clarify that for me.
  3. I'm okay with this ... especially after yesterday's move ... but I still think it's not the pitcher we need, but will be better than some of the 4 and 5s we put out there last year. I'm not sure I'd say he's a front of the rotation pitcher as indicated above, but will slot well for us. We'll see ...
  4. I only have 2 of them, plus the Gardy gnome ... and I have them on display with a couple of baseballs, one signed by Tony O, and an old-time hat and a batting helmet signed by Hunter, Jones and Stewart. That's pretty much it for memorabilia. I'm not a collector ... I just happened to come by those things. But I think you need to build a high shelf around the perimeter of your living room or game room, and start putting them up one by one ... of course that means you will have to collect them for the rest of your life.
  5. You should work those into the original articles ... I find it interesting how much you all agree/disagree and I think is interesting information to include.
  6. Well, better than polar bear or alligator.
  7. Yeah, I’m rowing off and leaving you to deal with that.
  8. Yeah ... that's truly the one I can't figure out. No.
  9. There will still be Darvish threads to read (or ignore). Three so far today have been started ...
  10. As much as many didn’t want Yu for 6 years, I’m not sure I’d want any of those for 4 years. And I especially don’t want Arrieta for even 3. I think he’s on a very fast decline. Maybe 2 with an option, but definitely not guaranteed. You’re right that Archer is going to cost way too much. Eh, I just don’t know. I’m really not at all surprised Yu went elsewhere, but we really need front-end help ... that’s really not any of those left. I’d rather look for really short-term deals and hope someone steps up.
  11. Really? There's a zip line across the Mississippi? Seems foolish for something you can just walk across in about 10 steps knee-deep. http://www.lakesnwoods.com/images/LakeIt78.jpg
  12. Yeah ... I'd have to see what we'd be offering and what everyone would sign for. I was always a Napoli fan in his heyday, but if it meant we would sign Darvish, I'd do a one-year, reasonable amount deal for him. But not sure where I'd put him ... I guess bench bat/DH ... can he even play 1st anymore? Guess he'd be a back up there? And if we signed him, I guess Vargas would lose his spot? I can't even think of the roster shuffling. It just seems like a piece we don't need. But ... for Darvish ... don't know. Again, I'd have to see the deals and numbers involved.
  13. x 1000. Ugh. If we end up with Odorizzi and are without Kepler this year because of a trade with the Rays, I can't even express my thoughts on that.
  14. Get a screen shot and PM Brock with it or post it here. In the meantime, refresh the screen and it goes away; at least in my experience that's what's happened.
  15. The narrator of the Guzman commercial makes that one hilarious with his bionic man noise.
  16. It’s been linked here recently, but the Thome/Paul Bunyan and Babe Twins Territory commercial.
  17. I think your intern has difficulties with high pressure situations. Next time try a food truck that only specializes in one thing.
  18. Where I work our service weeks are Monday - Sunday. So I go with that. Also, there’s this: ‘On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work.’ Everyone knows the 7th day, the day of rest, is Sunday, ergo the end of the week.
