  1. Hunter Greene can play SS when he's not pitching
  2. I think we need to consider stretching Gimenez out for multiple inning duty
  3. My theory is that Wimmers was brought up as a potential long guy, for thursday. If Mejia goes 2 innings and wimmers 3, then wimmers might get DFAd and Wilk brought back in likeliness of a poor Gibson outing. Starting pitching is still part of the issue.
  4. yes that's exactly what should have happened
  5. Seriously I agree. What's the appeal? It's fine for a 90 loss team to keep a high ceiling guy this way but not sure what Haley's ceiling is
  6. Philly can afford to hang onto those guys until July to try to get max value. I think the best bet is look at a cast strapped team who is not contending and try to give up the least in prospects by maximizing salary relief. Not to the extent of the James Shields acquisition by Chicago the other year, but a Daniel Hudson from Pittsburgh, or a Ryan Madson from Oakland. Or both we need help.
  7. Seems pretty knee jerk - we've got Ervin on the mound today so we shouldn't need the pen
  8. Can this still be terry ryan's fault?
  9. Seriously no game tomorrow? I...want to watch them
  10. I assume when he starts that Castro will be framing his pitches...
  11. Is there any hope that the inaction in the offseason might mean there's optimism from the front office in regards to the quality of the relievers in AA? Just letting them gain a couple month's confidence before bringing them up?
  12. Definitely possible. A pitcher who throws 97 isn't quite so rare in other organizations.
  13. Who's the long reliever today? Tonkin?
  14. Highly questionable is good. No one is debating anything.
  15. Elbow impingement? That sounds bad
  16. A bright spot to me so far seems to be team health (knock on wood!!)
  17. A very Nick Blackburn like career
  18. What if he struggles hitting at Rochester?
  19. I'd entertain a Ben Paulsen for Park for the time being. He could be RG2
  20. He seems to me like more of a NL guy - can give up some hits and walks but get to the pitcher spot to get out of an inning.
