  1. Brooks Lee is a switch hitter, so once he starts hitting, he could replace Farmer.
  2. These are terrible. Where does the yellow come from - I don't believe that's ever been on a Twins uniform before.
  3. This is a little bit off topic but isn't there a way for the Wolves, Lynx, Wild and Twins to come together to build a network that could cover all of their sports? Similar to the YES Network for the Yankees. Would this not work for the Minnesota teams? There is some overlap between the Wild / Wolves and Twins / Lynx but if it's a streaming model that wouldn't matter.
  4. Nothing surprising about the Twins start to the season.
  5. This team sucks. Apparently nobody understands how to take a professional at bat on this team. Some wild swings on pitches out of the zone and watching others right down the middle.
  6. I'm not saying they trick anyone or the IRS. But a company can decide to expense a project, system update, software change, etc. at the end of the year vs let it go into the following year if they're profitable to bring down their NOI. It happens all the time.
  7. I don't have access to that website. Does it breakdown their expenses? Net income, without a breakdown of expenses, is not an accurate indication of if a team actually made money or not. There are so many ways to increase expenses to decrease their tax liability. Depreciation and amortization are one way. Are they fully expensing stadium updates in certain years to decrease their NOI?
  8. Is this public information? Can you provide me with a link that shows the Twins have lost money because I'd love to see a breakdown of their revenue vs operating expenses? Yes, the payroll was over $150 million last year, and for the 1st time in 20 years the Twins finally won a single playoff game and also won a playoff series. What do they do next? Slash payroll by $30 million when you have the chance to finally be a playoff contender. The best way to increase revenue is to continually produce a quality product, which the BILLIONAIRES promised to do when receiving taxpayer money to build a new stadium. In the 14 seasons since Target Field opened, they have fielded TWO 90 + win teams. Not good enough. They went the cheap route to trade for DeSclafani when they already have a question mark in Paddack, because if Paddack makes it through the full season I'll be shocked.
  9. The number one reason is because the owners are cheap. Blake Snell signed a 2-year deal for $62 million, which the Twins could easily afford especially now that the TV deal for this season is in place. Montgomery will likely end up signing for a similar contract.
  10. His numbers definitely improved after June 1st last year. His BAbip is on the higher side but not too surprising based on his exit velocity numbers.
  11. Looking back at the 2014 MLB draft, the Nick Gordon pick was a big miss at #5. Aaron Nola drafted at #7, Michael Conforto drafted at #10, and Trea Turner drafted at #13... Oof.
  12. Do you know what the average center fielder is getting paid?
  13. Me not wanting to live in a city like SF, run into the ground by Democratic policies, doesn't make me a weenie. I lived in SF for two years, and then NYC for the next two years and I'm well aware of the music, art gallery's, museums, food, and sports those large cities have to offer. I explored as much as I could while I lived there and continue to do so now living in South Minneapolis. It doesn't change the fact I've been screamed at by a number of homeless people, had food scraps thrown at me, and been called a cracker a number of times walking in sketchy areas of those cities.
  14. SF is now a **** hole. I lived there from 2015 - 2017 and have gone back in recent years to visit friends. It was a nice city at one point but it has steadily gone downhill. Homeless everywhere, so much so that I'd need to step over human **** at least once a week walking to and from work. Every building in the financial district smells like piss because of the homeless. People openly using hard drugs, stumbling around like zombies, and leaving used needles everywhere. Then on top of that crime in the Bay Area has skyrocketed. You can't leave anything in your car and to be honest you might still get a few windows broken in because thieves want to check your trunk.
  15. Can you provide the full list of the top ten?
  16. I don't believe any prospect, other than Jenkins, should be untouchable but the Twins would have to be blown away to trade a player like Lee. I'm talking a pitcher with more upside than Lopez and more years under team control. He's going to be a multiple time all-star. He'll likely be an above average defender and hitter that has intangibles like situational awareness you get by growing up with a coach as a father. His value should be a lot higher than Arreaz since he's younger, much healthier, faster, better arm, and should hit for both average and power.
  17. I feel like saying he hasn't dominated the minors and using the fact he hasn't hit higher than an .850 OPS at any level is disingenuous. He was drafted in 2022, so 2023 was his first full year in the minors, which means he's been pushed very quickly up the ladder. In 2022 he had 4 games in Rookie ball, then only 25 games in A+, and then 2 games in AA. He had an OPS of .848 in A+ that season. He then started in AA in 2023 and in his first 47 games had an OPS of .757, however in his last 40 games he had an OPS of .934. So, it clearly took him some time to adjust to AA and then he dominated. He was promoted to AAA and struggled the first 21 games with an OPS of .658, however over the last 17 games he had an OPS of .829. So, again he clearly took some time to adjust to AAA and then hit well. Overall, he's only played 156 minor league games and 38 of those are at AAA. If he's given enough time at a certain level he will likely hit well above .850 OPS.
  18. There is very little chance this was a mutual decision or a decision Dick, which really bums me out and puts a negative light on the Twins management. He's said for a long, long time he wanted to get to 5,000 games and they didn't allow him to do that. They didn't allow him to say goodbye over the air, which is how it should have been done. To push out such a well liked person like Dick is just a poor decision.
  19. I bet he's at AA by mid-season. I bet they give him a month at single A and if he continues to dominate, they move him up to high A and go from there. He's too good of a talent not to push if he's performing well.
  20. It will be interesting to see where he starts next season. Does he start in Fort Myers until the weather warms up and then moves to AA with a chance to move to AAA if everything goes well?
  21. It sucks when you like the opposing manager more than your own.
  22. Does anyone have a replay of the Kiriloff error? I missed it and can't find it anywhere.

  24. That's what I would do. Ober, Lopez, Gray and then Ryan.
