  1. There is only 5 spots in the MLB rotation and the Twins currently have Lopez, Ober, Ryan SWR, Paddack, Festa, and Matthews all basically ready for the MLB. They also have the following pitchers either already at AAA or ready for it Morris, Raya, Culpepper, Lewis. Six of those guys ready for the Twins rotation are either signed long term or have team control for a long time. There are only so many spots available and before some of these other guys potentially flame out they should be used in trades.
  2. The price SD paid Chicago a few years ago. Do you know how many years of control SD was getting at the time? The price to acquire him should depend on that. I don't know if I'd want to trade Ober or Ryan for 1 year of Cease. I'd also be hesitant to trade Festa for 1 year but any of the other pitchers at AAA I'd be ok trading depending on what the remainder of the trade looked like.
  3. I mentioned this yesterday on multiple articles and it likely means the brothers have already been somewhat vetted by MLB, which could speed up the process in buying the Twins. Would the MLB help facilitate the purchase of the Twins by buying the brothers portion of the White Sox and then selling after the fact?
  4. Mat, Justin Ishbia Bought Chicago White Sox Stake in 2021 The Ishbia brothers have likely already been vetted by the MLB if this is the case. Although, it could slow down the sale process since they will need to sell their ownership interest in the White Sox.
  5. Mat, Justin Ishbia Bought Chicago White Sox Stake in 2021
  6. Other than who the new owners will be, I'm most interested in what local leaders the Ishbia bothers have been meeting with? Are they trying to bring in a few local players like Joe Mauer to be partial owners or are they meeting with city officials?
  7. I'm assuming Cartaya still has options, correct? If so, he could easily start at AAA and it wouldn't mean either Jeffers or Vazquez are going to be traded.
  8. It has nothing to do with needing a high payroll blank check to properly run a team. What shouldn't happen, and did happen, was ownership telling Falvey to decrease payroll by $30 million the season after he signs a couple of larger deals. Requiring the front office to significantly decrease payroll right after signing those large contracts hamstrung the front office.
  9. Very exciting news!!
  10. The Twins don't need starting pitching since their starting rotation already has Lopez, Ober, Ryan, SWR, Paddack, Festa, and Matthews all with big league experience. Raya, Morris, Culpepper, Lewis, and Castellano are all at AA or AAA and Prielipp isn't too far behind all of them. The Twins need bullpen help and they need another good righthanded hitter.
  11. I have no idea if they would be good owners or not but the fact that they're actual fans of baseball is definitely a good sign. The Pohlads only cared about the bottom line and never about actually winning.
  12. He had a 959 OPs against left-handed pitching though, which is what the article is about. Trying to find a player who can platoon for Wallner or Larnach.
  13. Give him 45 games at AA, and if he's producing like he did at A and high A then move him to AAA. He's the type of prospect that doesn't need a full season or even a half season at any one level.
  14. He's listed at 6 feet tall, so if that's correct, he's not really short. Pedrioa was like 5 foot 8.
  15. He's probably the prospect I'm most excited about for this season. Assuming he's healthy going into the season, I feel like he could be a real game changer for the Twins the second half of the season. He'll likely start at AAA, so between him and Emmanuel Rodriguez the Twins could have some exciting injury replacements.
  16. It's pretty well known he had tommy John surgery in August, and mentioned in the article, and usually when you have that surgery your arm is injured prior, which limits your ability to throw. Hence the teams he was on not being able to fully utilize him.
  17. It'll be interesting to see if the Twins trade any of these pitchers. They have four solid to good pitchers in the big-league rotation in Lopez, Ryan, Ober and SWR. The Twins have 6 pitchers in Festa, Matthews, Morris, Lewis, Raya and Adams ready for AAA. Add in Dobnak at AAA and Pierson Ohl and CJ Culpepper at AA the Twins have a lot of depth. Obviously, some won't make it to the MLB, and some will move to the bullpen, but they will need rotation stops to start the season. Can the Twins make a trade to help out the major league roster?
  18. Shaq would be a lot of fun as an owner of the Twins.
  19. If the front office is going to spend any money this offseason, which I doubt because of the Pohlads, it needs to be on pitching. Ideally, they would trade Paddack and bring in another Lopez type pitcher who is on a cheap deal and sign or trade for another legit bullpen arm.
  20. It'll be interesting once names or groups start to float around the rumor mill for who will be interested.
  21. What's the powerball at? headed to a gas station after work to buy a couple of tickets.
