  1. Why don't the major sports teams in Minnesota come together to produce a package similar to the YES Network. Between the Twins, Wolves, Lynx, Wild, and MN United they should be able to come up with sports package that provides streaming capabilities and also the ability to sell to Directv and comcast. They would then be able to share the production costs between the teams.
  2. I think the price is fine. When I was living out of state, I purchased both MLB.tv and NHL.tv, and the prices for both were similar. After next season it will be interesting to see what the number of subscribers is. How much of a decrease in TV revenue will the Twins receive? I'm assuming MLB will receive a portion of the $99 subscription fee but what's the breakdown? How many of the estimated 4.4 million households will subscribe?
  3. What? This same product has already been used for three other teams this past season.... How what will work for the season ticket holders? What?
  4. The problem with trading either is the FO would need to replace whichever one they traded away. Say they have to eat $5M of Vazquez's $10M contract to be able to trade him. Would the FO be able to sign an adequate replacement for less than $5M? If not, then the trade doesn't make sense. Same thing with Jeffers. If they trade his $5M contract away, who replaces him? What do the Twins do after next season if they trade Jeffers this offseason and Vazquez becomes a free agent? It doesn't appear the Twins have any catchers developing in the minor leagues. Unless the Twins can trade the majority of Vazquez's contract away and can get a much cheaper, adequate replacement, then it doesn't make sense to trade either.
  5. My thoughts on Paddock are, if the Twins can get out from under his $7.5 million salary, they could then trade one of the younger AA or AAA pitchers plus something else to acquire another Lopez type pitcher who hasn't been paid yet. Lopez's made roughly $5.4 million his first season with the Twins, so by subtracting Paddock's salary and adding another Lopez type they would actually be saving money next season. There are only so many spots in the rotation and with Lopez, Ryan, Ober and SWR all relatively young, where do you put Festa and Matthews who are almost ready. After next season Morris, Lewis, Adams, Raya, and Culpepper will all be knocking on the MLB door. Some of them won't pan out and some will move to the bullpen, but it's the FO's job to make that determination before some of these guys fizzle out as prospects. Why not trade from a position of strength to acquire a young and cheap MLB player?
  6. The AAA rotation should be very strong next season - Festa, Matthews, Morris, Lewis, and Adams. Although, it wouldn't surprise me if one of them was included in a trade to upgrade the MLB rotation. If the Twins can trade away Paddock and bring in another pitcher with similar talent to Lopez, they would have a very strong rotation. Lopez, trade, Ryan, Ober, SWR. With the AAA rotation still having a few arms to call upon in case of injury.
  7. Exciting news for sure. After a short adjustment to High A, he's played very well the past three weeks. If he's ready, hopefully he starts next season at AA and dominates. I'm assuming the leg injury at the beginning of the season was still slowing him down when he initially came back. Now that he's healthy, he's showing what his potential truly is.
  8. Nice to see Walker Jenkins putting together a nice stretch of games and hopefully he can continue for the remainder of the season. End the year on a high note and start next year at AA.
  9. Julien is so bad at defense. He has absolutely zero situational awareness and a ****ing terrible arm. That was as soft and easy of an infield in play at home as you can get. CHARGE the ****ing ball. Baseball 101 that is taught in Little League.
  10. Any news on Lee? Was he pulled for injury last night?
  11. I should have left the question open to everyone, so thanks for the response! It'll be interesting to see how he finishes the season and how he does at the beginning of next season. He has completely skipped AA and done well. Assuming he doesn't completely slump he'll likely start next season at AAA I'd imagine, so he'd be available for a call up once he's added to the 40 man.
  12. @Seth Stohs - Where would you rank Payton Eeles as a Twins prospect? He's moved up from A to AAA and consistently hit well. Does he have a defensive position?
  13. The problem is, and everyone knew it would happen except Rocco apparently, that San Diego had the full bench available to them. Clearly, they were going to pinch hit a righting in that situation if Okert or Thielbar were brought in. Who would you rather have hit leadoff in the 8th? Wade with his .243 avg and .581 OPS against righties or Solano who's hitting .318 with a .877 OPS against lefties? And, when you look at Profar's numbers. He hit's .331 avg with a .974 OPS against lefties and .273 avg with a .815 OPS against righties? So, why would you ever bring in a lefty to face those players? I thought Rocco was a stats guy?
  14. To me next season is really the season the Twins "Go for it". The rotation next season should be: Lopez, Ryan, Ober, SWR, Paddock with Festa, Mathews and Morris at AAA. The lineup should be: C Jeffers & Vazquez 1 Miranda & Julien or Kiriloff 2 Lee 3 Lewis SS Correa LF Castro / Larnach CF Buxton RF Wallner DH Castro / Larnach Bench: Vazquez, Martin, Julien, Kiriloff / FA outfielder Keaschall and Rodriguez at AAA.
  15. You've got to think Morris will start next season at AAA, which could have a very strong rotation. Depending on where Festa starts next year, AAA could have Festa, Mathews and Morris as their top three starters.
