  1. They don’t have a ton of choices. I suppose they could put Castro on the IL for his back issue. All we’re discussing, really, is delaying the inevitable with Gallo. Sept 1 is right around the corner which will add 1 more position roster spot. With a lot of players set to return as well… Gordon, Miranda, Kirilloff, and Buxton could all potentially return and only Miranda has options remaining.
  2. We will see who is sent back to St Paul or DFA’d when Lewis is activated. Hopefully Julien or Wallner isn’t sent back just to keep Gallo on roster.
  3. With Lewis coming back tomorrow, Polanco/Solano can temporarily play 1B until Kirilloff comes back.
  4. For me, the expectations were pretty minimal in March. Hope he bounces back to be on pace for 3-4 WAR and either flip him for prospects at the deadline, or keep him for a playoff run. If he still stunk it up at the plate, $5-6 million is not much to eat to DFA him by August 1st. The reason for my frustration is he is playing too frequently at a replacement level.
  5. Agreed. I’ve posted something similar before… Gallo was a 4.7 bWAR / 4.2 fWAR player in 2021. It was a reasonable gamble to assume 2022 was a fluke year and he could bounce back to be a 3-4 WAR player in 2023. After each passing month it has been more and more obvious that 2022 is not a fluke, and he is trending towards being out of baseball. The experiment should have ended months ago. But I don’t blame him specifically. I place the blame more on the FO for not preparing more prospects to play multiple positions. Give me more of the Dodgers’ development philosophy. It’s crazy that there is no one else in the system capable of playing 1B for the Twins.
  6. Phillies radio crew is ripping Rocco and I can’t blame them.
  7. Sigh… Radio crew making it seem like Gray is done for the day.
  8. Don’t do it Rocco. Sonny Gray is approaching 80 pitches. Send him out for the 7th.
  9. Cleveland cruising to an 8-1 lead in the 5th. Gotta win this one
  10. Suarez is well on pace to set his career high in strikeouts today.
  11. After that play I am changing my answer to yes. Julien can catch an egg without the egg breaking.
  12. Future Gold Glove finalist 1B Christian Vazquez
  13. Gorgeous! I’ve been picking anywhere from 4-14 heirlooms, early girl, and Roma tomatoes every day for the last week. I had enough to make 7 mason jars of salsa! Now I’m saving up the romas for tomato sauce.
  14. These are all very fair questions! I’m not here to steer anyone in a certain direction to vote. It could be a hard boiled egg. It could be the big green egg!
  15. @chpettit19 @USAFChief @tony&rodney Poll added that I could use your input on.
  16. Since I never host game threads anymore, let’s bring back an annual tradition. The state fair is right around the corner! As always, featuring new foods. A cheese curd stuffed pizza pretzel? Yes please. Walleye fritter pops? You betcha. Bacon wrapped waffle dog? I’ll take 2.
  17. @wsnydesasked me to step in today. He drank so much whiskey last night after the win… He ended up getting a tattoo of Joey Gallo on his thigh.
  18. HAWT taeks of the day: - Sweet corn purchased from the back of a pickup tastes better than sweet corn purchased from a stand. - Brie is the most overrated cheese. - Mayo does not belong on hot dogs - Joey Gallo actually did not go 4 for 4 yesterday. We were all victims of the Men in Black.
  19. Not a chance this happens. I’m glad he had a good day yesterday. Let’s not start talking crazy here.
  20. Jordan Luplow is the winner of position player pitcher.
  21. Twins getting crushed and their magic number decreasing. Just your typical night in the AL Central.
