    I don't care about any of it. I'm just hoping the Twins can break their losing streak, if they accomplish that, I'm hoping they can pull out the first series, if they get that, etc........ it's the time of the season to hope for the best!!! Maybe we can all re live touch em all!!!!

    If you look up the Atlanta Braves stats on baseball reference, you'll notice that they have 9 guys with 400 or more plate appearances. Then they have a guy on the bench with like 260 plate appearances and he's the backup catcher then you have pillar with 160 plate appearances who's like the 4th Ofer. After that pretty much nothing. I wonder how many times Rocco would sit Matt Olson down because a tough lefty is on the mound if he were managing the Braves???

    Are you a Vikings fan?? I'm just joking, I see both sides of the argument for sure. I see what the one person said, would you trade the 91 world series for a few division titles in the 90's? I also see if we win it now and know we are going to suck for the next 10 years why even watch? Hope spring eternal, but I also see that a bird in the hand is worth multiples in the bushes. So it is definitely arguable from both sides. One of those tricky discussions for sure.

    You have to think that possibly one or two of these guys can make us better, if that's the case then it's only a months worth of money. They might as well pull the trigger.

    Oh yeah, I did Batting average and slugging instead of On Base %. So its even higher then. .947

    Kepler has gone .305 .357 .590 so that would be an .895 OPS over the last 30 games or 105 at bats. So he has rebounded nicely from his early season struggles. But if I am Max Kepler, personally, I'd want out of Minnesota and try to prove myself somewhere else. I am a supporter of Kepler, especially in the pre-season when everyone said to dump him. But now that many of these guys have had chances to play I think it would be in the Twins best interest to let these other guys like Wallner and such to play. I was not on board with that back in February. I will even take it one step further in the fact that I think it might be questionable weather or not the Twins would be in 1st place without his contributions over the last month or so. But I think now is the time to move on for Kepler, to further his career and for the Twins also. After this season, not now, but after the season obviously. Hopefully he hits another 5 - 6 bombs and can finish north of .245 for the season.

    I know he is labeled as a 5 tool player, which includes great defense. But so far at least he seems to be kind of average on the dirt. Not bad, but I've seen some questionable plays this season.

    This is exactly correct. This is all about spilt milk. It's all said and done and no one really complained about sending Cano for Lopez last season and no one cried when Danny didn't make the roster. But now that they are doing well people are upset. But like the post above says, it probably says more about the coaching than it does about the players in the Twins system. It appears that either Baltimore's coaches are better than the Twins coaches, or maybe the Twins coaches mess with the players too much and maybe Baltimore just let them be themselves and play?? I'm not sure which one happened, but one of them did because these weren't 21 year olds with their first taste in the pros and all of the sudden they got it, these guys had a lot of years behind them and re found what got them looked at in the first place.

    Yeah I think that some kind of bp help should have been done, maybe not a big ticket guy but someone that can go out there and get a few outs.

    It doesn't seem like the Lakers ever have problems convincing great players to come to LA? Doesn't seem like the Yankees ever really have to convince the great ones to come to New York?? If taxes are what drives the athletes then why would anyone want to play in New York, or Minnesota for that matter?? I mean guys that want to win go to the teams that win when they have a chance to. Probably says a lot about him and his intentions as a player (winning obviously doesn't matter to him). I'm pretty sure that LA is now probably glad they lucked out and didn't get him.

    He'd get paid the same amount there for the last 2 months of his contract. Plus his accountant/agent would probably be able to put better deals together for him in the off season had he gone to a playoff team. I'd get it if he still had 3 years on his deal and would be stuck somewhere he doesn't want to be?

    Wow! Who in their right mind would veto the Dodgers? I mean they are always in the thick of it.

    The Twins are not just one piece away from contending for the world series. Even if they win the central, I mean they could win a few games and break the curse but they aren't winning or going to the world series. So I mean they could maybe find someone to help out in the bullpen a little. But I think they should just go with what they have. I think the problem is two fold, like I said they aren't just a piece or two away, like in the Shannon Stewart days. They are a long ways away. Second, with more teams actually in contention now for the playoffs, I don't think there is a lot of worthwhile trade pieces out there. I mean 10 years ago the number of teams selling was probably close to double what it is now. Which resulted in more talent available at the deadline. With the lack of talent available, teams like the Padres are picking up guys like Rich Hill? I mean at 43 he is still a serviceable MLB player, but is he going to make the difference for the Padres? But I mean, they are probably looking at it like what else is out there? So that is why I think the Twins should just keep pulling young guys up and waiting for guys to get healthy. There isn't anything out on the trade market that will turn them into a contender.

    I think he's probably hitting the wall a little, he's already at like 50 innings, I think he only threw 58 innings all year last year and most of them probably pretty low stress. He could struggle a little from here on out, but end up with 70 innings and next year come back and be dominant again?

    Maybe the Twins can identify a couple of AA arms that could be traded away for some bullpen help, then before trading them just put them into their own bullpen and see how they do? Probably help to avoid trading the next potential All-star

    The question has been asked a few times. Does anyone exactly know what's wrong with Byron's knee? I know I heard Arraez's knee was always hurt too? But I haven't heard that this year while he is down in Miami? I mean is it cartilage? Is it a ligament? What's wrong with it? Does anyone know?

    That's more than they play against the other divisions correct? So they don't get to play against Minnesota, Cleveland, Kansas City, Chicago White Sox and Detroit 32% of the time, the teams that don't score a whole lot of runs. I mean anyone gets 6 more games against KC should be in a little better shape, right?

    I'm not weighing in on who won whatever trade. However I think credit needs to be given where credit is due. I know most people are not necessarily fond of Berrios any longer, kind of like an ex girlfriend or something. We all kind of knew he probably wasn't going to return to the Twins anyway so I can understand where the fan base can be a little disgruntled about him. However, when considering his putrid first 3 games or so, he has been very consistent. I mean his over all numbers are very similar to Joe Ryan's numbers and Berrios pitches in the AL East. There is no worse place to have to pitch on a daily basis than the AL East. Last year he definitely struggled. Had a winning record but he pitched for a superior team last season that kept him in games that wouldn't have happened in Minnesota. But this year, he has looked good, and again when you consider how poorly he started that means he's even done better than his current numbers show because he was coming from such poor numbers in the first place. I hope SWR wins 20 games for the Twins next year. I hope Martin becomes the next Luis Arraez. So by no means am I saying the Twins lost this trade, I'm just saying give some credit where credit is due. Berrios has looked sharp this season after that terrible start.

    The way we are really going to see it is when they lose Gray, Mahle, and Maeda at the end of the season and what they come back with? Do they trade Royce Lewis to get another Pablo Lopez type to add to the rotation or do they bring some guys up from the system and they don't miss a beat? That will determine it. Now it looks as though Varland might be ok but they will need to have another couple of dudes step up to be the 5th and 6th guys behind Ryan, Lopez, and Ober. Hopefully SWR? Hedrick? we will see.

    I was just going off of the original post about how Kepler doesn't have as high of a DRS as high as he used to. So I just made the point that Buck has no ability to even play out there anymore. Yeah Buck has a new contract, that is huge and now has less opportunity to help the club. But anyway, hopefully Buck can get his knee fixed in the off season and can roam the OF once again next season. Hopefully Kep and Gallo get hot and help the Twins to a division title. We will see. Hopefully Wallner keeps playing well.
