  1. Seeing this lineup, with Outman hitting .091 and so many other hitters hitting so poorly makes me wonder why MLB quit letting the pitchers hit? I mean a lot of those guys hit at least .091?? Maybe they could DH Bell for Outman and let Woods Richardson hit?
  2. I didn't get to watch any of the game, how was Ober's velo today? I think last game he had a couple of pitches hit 91/92. Was he still in that range? Im just hoping he can re find some of his old magic from a couple of years ago.
  3. Either one would be better, I meant Gabriel Gonzalez. But either is more hopeful than outman.
  4. I know there is no way to quantify this statement, no new found stat or anything. But it could be that with Falvey gone the Twins have a new Culture in the clubhouse?? Let's hope this can keep up for the season.
  5. If he can consistently hit 90 - 91 that helps those 83 mph off speed pitches to work a little better.
  6. Probably why guys who threw hard back in the day didn't get hurt nearly as often. Like Nolan Ryan, in his day and age he didn't need to show up to so many prospect camps and throw as hard as he could. Guys back then probably just played high school baseball and eventually got noticed, when they finally were fully developed. Some developed early and got noticed early some developed later and got noticed later??
  7. Yeah I'm not one that thinks all pitchers must throw 100, but with his change up at 83 it would be nice to see him at like 91 - 92?
  8. I watched Gray have a nice AB last night in the 8th inning I believe. He ended the AB with a walk, but he must have fouled off 5 or 6 pitches that were probably strike 3. Only AB I've seen, but it looked good.
  9. I mean we all saw the off season play out. Hope springs eternal, but I just have an eerie feeling that the Twins might waste a lot of good starts this season. I sure hope I am wrong, a 2 - 1 loss shouldn't be that big of a deal, but im pretty sure everyone has the same fear, decent starting pitching with limited run support and below average defense. Praying for the bomba squad to reappear.
  10. Maybe he can figure out how to be a relief pitcher, then he wouldn't have to hit. Or they could just DH for him and let Joe Ryan hit??
  11. Everyone is in last place too. Ha ha My prediction is that Keashall will be the Twins all star rep.
  12. He will be out 3 months out and abundance of caution. Just joking, ha ha. But it seems like injuries continue to find him.
  13. Around 2009 it seemed like the strike zone expanded up, and squeezed closed on the sides of the plate a little bit. Not saying this would be a fix all. But a high strike from a pitcher that throws slower is not good. Hard throwers and slower throwers can get ground balls when hitters have to chase a few more inches outside. Maybe lower the zone a little bit and widen it a little bit and the control pitcher could be someone's 4th or 5th dude again??
  14. Every team out there now deals with these kinds of injuries. The difference with most of the other teams is that they are deep enough to overcome 1 or 2 of these season long injuries. Right now it doesn't appear that the Twins can afford to sustain one of these injuries and still compete. As a Twins fan we hope they prove us wrong and Festa and Matthews come on in and throw 160 innings and have era's in the 3's. We all have hope. But many other teams have a plan in case this stuff happens.
  15. I agree, someone should give him an MLB contract, I mean he went 10 - 4 with an era in the 3's last season playing in the AL east. But the Twins won't. I mean I think Littel would be a great pickup also for extra pitching depth since they probably wont hit that great they will need to hold teams down in order to win games. Someone will take those guys eventually.
  16. Im sure the Twins would pick him up if he came for free?
  17. If a person can down 4 - 5 beers pregame they can then sleep through the 5th 6th and 7th innings.
  18. https://www.espn.com/espn/page2/story?page=beernight/080604 I'm in!!
  19. I mean if he is hitting .275 with 12 - 15 homeruns around the All Star break, then I could see someone shooting the Twins a AA player that once had some potential. But right now, they wouldn't get anything for him.
  20. You guys have shown that you guys don't want him. Why would anyone else?? I mean all kinds of teams would give him a shot, but i don't see anyone trading anything of real value for him.
  21. That's odd, I have him averaging like 4.83 innings per game? He does tax the bullpen, but im not totally sure thats his fault or if it was Rocco's and Falvey's doing? He typically does ok, you'd think he could go another inning?
  22. Hopefully he is OK, but it sure seems like Minnesota is cursed.
