  1. Looking at his winter league stats doesn't tell me anything. If I remember right Eduard Julien had fantastic stats in winter league. But I really am pulling for him and Jenkins and the young guys. It's one of those things. You just have to have the guts to cut the cord and start over. Falvey has a tough time with this, I feel that he has a little bit of a superiority complex. He thinks he is smarter than everyone else and if he cuts the cord and starts over he has to admit that he was wrong. This causes him to continue to bring back some of the re-treds because if they do somehow win he can say, "see! I told you so"!! They changed the manager, I think if they got rid of Falvey also, we would see Rodriguez, Jenkins and many of the young kids coming up to prove whether they belong or not. Hopefully the young guys come along like that young group of kids back in about 1984!
  2. I moved to Cali in the late 90's, I get back once in awhile. Took my kids to the Red Pepper a few years back, its still good, but something is different, not really sure what it was, but it wasn't quite the same as I remember. Looked the same though, ha ha. The flood changed a lot of things.
  3. I was actually wondering the same thing. I grew up in GF. So when I saw EGF I thought the same thing.
  4. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DP1YrSYAADt/?igsh=MTIzYTh4a2NoeG43Ng== Falvey would never want Bochey or Maddon there because they know way more than Falvey ever will.
  5. I wasn't being serious, thats why I put the Ha ha at the end. Mets and Yankees are both on a different stratosphere compared to the Twins. But interestingly enough the Padres have some similarities. But nonetheless the Pohlads are not good for baseball in Minnesota.
  6. I never thought about it like this!! I like the perhaps unable!!! Many rich people don't like to be told they simply can't do something?? Maybe the Twins Daily and the Tribune writers need to change their approach? Keep writing articles about how the Pohlads are not rich or wealthy enough to put a winning team out there? Keep using that narrative over and over. Instead of saying they don't care, many rich people could care less if people think they don't care. But if the people actually think they are too poor to field a decent team that may get under their skin enough to just go out there and prove everyone wrong??? Hey I like it, even though I know better. The Pohlads are really hoping the team can get sold because they are just to financially strapped, they are too poor to actually sign a free agent or two. We know the rest of the owners across baseball are all extremely rich and can actually afford to own a team, these guys are not their father, they just are too poor to actually own an MLB franchise. There, maybe they'll prove me wrong?? Ha ha
  7. Someone will take the opportunity to coach in the MLB, but you are correct because Falvey is the one in charge of the decisions, Rocco was just the guy who put on the uniform and handed the umpire the lineup card.
  8. Since Falvey left Cleveland, they have played baseball at 141 games over .500. At what point in time do we realize that he wasn't the genius behind Cleveland's success. The Twins fans are pinning their "Hope" on this guy. I don't see it getting considerably better until he is gone. I don't think it's the players, it's the leadership that has let us down thus far.
  9. The Twins should try to switch him to pitcher. He would have help at home. Ha ha
  10. Someone should come up with a "new better" stat. I'm thinking production above replacement instead of wins. Because if you think about it. Win above replacement is going to be different if you play for the Dodgers as opposed to playing for the Rockies. Since the Rockies hardly win any games anyway you really can't have that many wins above a replacement on that team??? I wonder if that is calculated?? But production above replacement now, you could just take the positive things like number of hits, runs scored, RBI's stolen bases, extra base hits, walks, sacrifices, wins, era, saves, strikeouts, quality starts, plays in the field, you could even assign each play by difficulty, etc..... assign each stat a value and then subtract negative things, like caught stealing, strikeouts, errors, failed sacrifices, grounding into double plays, losses, runs given up, walks, blown saves, etc.... assign each of these things a value and come up with a number. Then average all of the players in MLB and come up with what the average players production is and then you could see a players production above replacement. Just straight production not wins.
  11. I looked at the WAR on baseball reference. It's just such a weird statistic. Like back when Aaron Judge had a higher WAR than Ohtani and Ohtani was pitching and hitting. Like that season Ohtani was hitting well and pitching fantastic, I mean how do you even find a replacement for that. His WAR that season almost should have been infinity cause there isn't any replacement for that. Anyway, the fangraphs WAR may be better, but again, why the difference? OPS on fangraphs is the same as OPS on baseball reference. Just seems a little weird to me? Thanks though as a 1.6 would make more sense.
  12. Rod Carew was also a 1st baseman? But he was in lineups with other guys that had pop.
  13. WAR is interesting to me. Arraez produced a 3.2 WAR in 21 with a .294 average, 17 doubles 6 triples and 2 home runs with 42 RBI 58 runs and like 125 hits or something like that. This season he has produced a 0.8 WAR and is hitting .284 with 149 hits, 29 doubles, 4 triples and 6 homeruns. 49 RBI and 55 runs scored. 121 games vs 130 games. I don't understand how these two numbers can be so much different?? Even 9 stolen bases this year vs 2 stolen bases in 21? Almost everything is better this season except for the average?? Also besides this point, I don't think Luis Arraez would resign with the Twins. I mean maybe if he was 38 and just wanted to play another season before retirement. But he has been involved in pennant races the last two seasons and in no way will the Twins be competitive any time soon. Maybe 2 - 3 seasons from now? Carlos Santana would probably come back though?? Arraez doesn't really fit the Twins lineup, sure if he hit .320 he would lengthen the lineup, but for who? I mean if he was in a lineup with Judge or ohtani or something like that and hit .320 in that lineup and caused Judge to get some extra at bats then he'd probably be a good fit. But causing Larnach or Jeffers to get a couple extra at bats doesn't really do anything for the Twins.
  14. This past weekend wouldn't suggest so. But I guess the big thing is if the White Sox have a run next season and put themselves into playoff position, would their ownership pay the money to get them into the playoffs? Because we know the Twins ownership wont

Keep battling! I will be sending prayers your way. 🙏 🙏 🙏
  16. With the same ownership and front office the Twins realistically could switch places with the White Sox next season.
  17. Brent Rooker? .272 batting average 226 runs 95 hrs 255 rbis .865 ops All since 2023
  18. David Justice on the plane in Moneyball, "Why is soda a dollar in the clubhouse"? "Billy likes to keep the money on the field". "Soda money? Where is my soda money at on the field"? "It's hard to see, but it's there". "Really? Soda money". David Justice puts his headphones back on.
  19. My daughter attended the Minnesota Twins baseball camp in Stillwater the week that the trades all happened. We went to the Tuesday night game against the Red Sox. After the game was over she waited around to see if she could get a baseball or something. We were late to the game so she couldn't do any of that beforehand. Anyway, Louie Varland came out of the clubhouse and signed autographs for the 10 - 11 kids standing around after the game. I was shocked since he had actually pitched in the game. I just figured most of those guys would shower up and get the heck out, especially after a loss like that. My daughter's travel ball team has played in Cooperstown the week before and pin trading is a big thing for the kids there. She had some of her pins still on her. When he signed her hat she gave him one of her Cooperstown pins. He said excitedly, "this is for me??". She said yeah. Then he said "Cool!". Then went in to the next kid. Just shows the human side of these guys in a cutthroat business. Pierson Ohl also signed her hat, it was his first ever start that night and his whole family was out there so it didn't surprise me to see him out there after the game. But yeah Varland genuinely was a nice dude to the kids.
  20. I remember when Grateral and Duran were coming up through the minors that there was always a lot of talk about their "special" velocity. Hovering around 102 - 103 all of the time. I know all guys now throw hard but is there anyone coming up, even in high A or AA that has that little bit of extra Velo??
  21. I read an article probably 3 days ago or so that said once Correa told Jax about what he was told about the direction that the team is going on is when he asked to be traded. So I'd guess that's when they started making the big calls, I'm sure Falvey was testing the waters with all of the players, but I'm guessing once Jax requested the trade is when it got serious.
  22. That's too bad, I was hoping he'd get some velo back, 93 - 94. Oh well, he's just going to have to figure out how to get hitters off balance and get some ground balls.
  23. I'm just spitballing here. It's only a guess. But my guess is that SS has a lot of ground to cover, play after play after play for 162 games. 3B not as much ground to cover, granted there have been some fantastic fielding 3rd basemen in the past, a la Brooks Robinson, etc...... But there have been some mediocre ones also just to get their bat in the lineup. I'd say Correa would have been better than mediocre but no Arrenado. With less field coverage his feet and such probably would feel much better after the games each day? I'm thinking Correa still thought he was one of the best SS, but knew he couldn't keep it up all season and the nagging injuries to his feet made him a lesser fielder, but more importantly made him more uncomfortable to play every day. Again this all just my opinion.
  24. Could you imagine Correa all of the sudden going off at the plate when Houston puts him at 3B? I think they left Correa at SS because they didn't trust Brooks Lee? Knowing this with hindsight. Lewis should have gone to 2B, Correa to 3rd and Lee to SS. But that would have also caused problems at the beginning of the year when Julien and Miranda was in their plans. Looking at what they have now it looks like what the hell were they thinking. This is Falvey playing fantasy baseball with the lineup and not doing what's actually best. Crazy, Correa has been asking to go to 3rd???
