  1. Per Bob Nightengale in the Strib (and repeated in MLBTradeRumors), the Twins will bring back their entire MLB coaching staff for 2024. Here's the MLBTR bit, since the Strib is behind a paywall. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/10/coaching-notes-guardians-nationals-twins.html
  2. The timing of Thielbar was entirely due to 2 lefties coming up for Houston. 100 percent.
  3. stop it.
  4. I believe Mr Stengel's quote was "Good pitching will always stop good hitting, and vice versa."
  5. Yes, I said it in April, July, and will repeat it again: the Twins lack a middle of the order. I have hopes that Julien can develop into a really good everyday leadoff hitter, OBP over .375 with BA and some pop. I don't think Royce Lewis will be the 3 hole hitter we need, but he's clearly a nice piece. A 5 hole guy. Juan Soto would fill a need. And Bellinger would make a nice 1st baseman.
  6. No one could blame you For poetry as pain salve But I'm sure some will
  7. This nonsense just keeps getting repeated. First, most imprtantly, Pressly had 1.5 years of control when traded. Second, why wouldn't the Twins sign him 1.5 years later? As an aside, I'd sure HOPE the Twins FO isn't in the habit of making trades that don't have the goal of improving the team.
  8. * nitpic: it cost the Twins 1 base and, since we're assuming everything else stays the same, 1 run. Had Mauer doubled, rather than singled, he would have scored on the subsequent 2 singles, rather than ending up on 3rd, bases loaded.
  9. Make the qualifying offer. But I'd let someone else give him 3 or 4 years.
  10. I was trying to be realistic. ...
  11. I don't think the OP was written by the OP poster...
  12. As I see it, one of the problems of measuring this data is...measuring it. How do you go about doing that? You have robo umps measuring robo umps?
  13. Personally, IIRC i had them around 85 wins preseason, and at mid-season I predicted they would not win the ALC. So I'm an idiot
  14. Here's one preseason poll: Interestingly, the consensus for regular season wins? 87.
  15. Like I said...Bellinger, Soto, Snell, and Hader. Is that too much to ask? ;) "All I want is frickin' sharks with frickin' Lazer beams attached to their frickin' heads...is that too much to ask?"
  16. No. You're not. The Twins lack a middle of the order. It's tough to have a good offense when you don't have a couple three really good, dependable tough outs to build around. I have high hopes that Julien will develop into a very good leadoff hitter. Maybe Lewis, although I'm skeptical.
  17. Sign Blake Snell AND trade for a starter.
  18. My 2024 wish list: Blake Snell Cody Bellinger Juan Soto Josh Hader
  19. Gonna need to see some verification of that claim. Also, nitpic, but it's "Pressly."
  20. 1. Pressly had 1.5 years of control when traded. Not to mention, there's zero reason the Twins couldn't have signed him. Contract status has little to nothing to do with trading Pressly. 2. What does Duran have to.do with Pressly?
  21. You're "not going to have a lot of patience with people who are anything less than delighted with the overall direction of this franchise"?? What direction is that? We don't know what 2024s roster looks like, and they're not likely winning anything with Baldelli anyway. Also, did Arizona need to see the death star up close?
