  1. I've lost count but I think this about the tenth article asking the same question. The replies and arguments haven't changed and no one knows what the front office is going to do. As my magic eight ball is telling me - "All will be revealed soon!". And when it does happen, then the same thoughts will be revealed and argued in multiple articles.
  2. The top four Astro batters had 16 official at bats, not 13. Pablo did even better than you implied.
  3. Very interesting comment. AAA is where you learn, but his bat says he stays, but the Bigs are not where you learn? So he stays at third? He is only allowed to DH or pinch hit? He gets sent down to learn? I'm old and I can't remember last year, but did you not want Julien on the field at all? Seems like most people have the opinion that he learned to play 2B while in the "Bigs".
  4. How about taking some time before every game to teach Miranda the proper footwork and positioning? As a former first baseman, I know that the position is more difficult than most people think it is. BUT, Miranda is a professional baseball player and I firmly believe that he can pick up the position to an adequate degree. And having someone who can hit the ball playing at first would significantly upgrade the Twins.
  5. I had to go to the box score to figure out what happened. Vasquez drove in a run with his double and then Julien drove him in with a ground out. The write up still sounds like Vasquez doubled and Julien grounded out but somehow two runs scored,
  6. It took a while but I finally figured out what you meant, It was really unclear in the writeup unless you saw the game.
  7. seven out of how many that made the jump? And it's interesting that you choose career stats for some, just a single year for others, and three years for another.
  8. Jenkins singled in the first inning, was replaced on the bases by Yasser Mercedes, but played five innings. Does the Complex League allow re-entry?
  9. Urena allowed a pair of runs on a double by Vasquez and a groundout by Julien? I think you skipped a few things. What actually happened?
  10. A "predicted 700 OPS" only by you. I've not seen any historical evidence showing this to be a true statement.
  11. Beautiful left-on-left swing by E-Rod. Too bad he'll never get to show it in the big leagues. The Twins play statistical baseball, so E-Rod would be on the bench.
  12. "Klein Shoves" What the heck does this even mean? I asked this same question two weeks ago and the only responses were that they didn't know and had the same question. I'm assuming it's a positive comment but it makes no sense whatsoever. Did Klein shove an umpire and is going to get suspended? Or worse yet, Klein was arrested for assault because he shoved someone? If anyone knows the etymology of this curious slang, please enlighten me
  13. If you would take some time to read what you've written before you post it, people not be "so critical". RpR was commenting on what you wrote, not what you intended to write.
  14. Why do so many responders think the Twins are going to Boston? Their next trip to Fenway is late September.
  15. Kiersey will definitely get his chance as an MLB player - once the Twins trade him for pitching help (and probably for someone with a history of arm problems).
  16. Not much of a "pipeline" if there isn't anyone ready to follow SWR to the majors. The next two (Festa and Maya) are only going three to five innngsat each start.
  17. I am someone who lives 1500 miles from the Twins Cities and has no direct connection to the TV fiasco. But I am a Twins fan and have been since Pedro Ramos took the mound on opening day 1961. And I do have a strong opinion on the budget cutting enacted by the front office. It is my opinion that the Twins should have taken advantage of the almost league wide payroll hesitancy to step up, buck the trend, and invest in an even better product for the 2024 season. For a product valued at roughly $1.4 billion dollars (and ownership valued at an additional $1B), there isn't any reason why another $30M could not have been added to the payroll. Instead of fueling the enthusiasm, the Twins figuratively dowsed it in cold water. To me, the Twins payroll cut was a total disaster that should have been avoided.
  18. Okay. I gotta ask. What the heck does "shove" mean? I have figured out that it means that someone did well, but why "shove"? Who's getting pushed around? Does anyone get hurt when someone "shoves"?
  19. Because I'm in New England, I get to watch all the Red Sox games (whether I want them or not). During last night's game, the two announcers seemed very preoccupied with the sausage. The had long periods where they were discussing why a team would keep a "rotting" piece of meat in the dugout, why Kepler wouldn't get near it, and how will they get it across the border when going to Toronto. Now that's some quality broadcasting.
  20. I knew a pro wrestler named the Crusher. But his name was Reggie Lisowski. In 1964, the summer before my senior year in high school, the Crusher rented a cabin just down the road from my parents' cabin. I would go past his cabin every morning when I went running and would stop to watch him working out with weights on my return. One day, he saw me watching, called me over, and asked me if I wanted to join him. For the next six weeks I worked out almost every day with him. He would show me an exercise with an appropriate amount of weight for me on the barbell. Once I did my reps, he would add 100-150 more pounds to the barbell and do his reps. I lost 20 pounds that summer and was in the best shape of my life. (Too bad that only lasted a short time.) He was a very friendly and humorous guy. Best summer ever!
  21. DaShaun Kiersey, Jr. is batting .291, has an OPS of .899, and has stolen 8 bases. Just because he's an ancient 27 years old is no reason to overlook him.
